"This is a lovely beginner watercolor set that I wouldn't hesitate to give as a gift (in a basket with other things, or as a small gift on its own) - although I will be selfishly keeping this one for myself. It is small enough to easily fit in your tote or larger purse, in the glovebox etc., as it is perfect to have on hand for a little "me time". There are 12 "lessons" - sketches of a flower with some guidance on how to color it with the paints. The floral illustrations are shown in watercolor, which gives the booklet such a lovely feel. The paints themselves are contained in a lovely metal box, along with other "useful when sketching/painting" items in the lid. The paper of the booklet is quite thick - like sketching paper. Together they feel good quality, despite their reasonable price tag. My only complaint is minor - the binding of the book is too tight and opening and closing it forces the pages to smash together, so basically you need to work at it to get a flat layout to paint on, and again when you want to close it. Probably a one-off problem in the manufacturing and won't deter me from using it, will just be a bit inconvenient."

This has everything you need, plus, the workbook comes with instructions to get started. The paint quality (for a beginner) is great and it's the perfect starter for someone new to watercolors!
