"The docking station is high quality and works out of the box. The fan is a big plus as SSD and HDD gets hot when copying large files. Plug into the USB 3 port and it recognized m.2 SSD and 2.5 inch SATA HDD drives in Windows 11. Plug-n-Play and no drivers needed. Then I plugged in 3.5 inch SATA HDD and nothing. Windows 11 Disk Manager sees the HDD and prompt to initialize the HDD. Choose MBR or GPT and both throw invalid error message. I tried Seagate 3 TB and WD 512 GB and both are unrecognized so the problem appears to be the docking station recognizing old drives. I bought this to make HDD swap easier without opening the PC case and somewhat disappointed."

I bought this little docking station because I needed a quick and reliable way to check my drives. This Xiaobi docking station did not disappoint. Although this unit can connect to one drive at a time this device can connect to many types of drives including M.2 NVMe SSD, M.2 SATA SSD, 2.5 Inch SATA SSD/HDD, 3.5 Inch SATA HDD. This docking station also comes with a built in fan and fan switch. The dock itself also has it's own power switch which is very convenient. The docking station comes with a power adapter and data connection cable. The data connection cable plugs in to the dock via USB-C, the other end of the cable plugs in to your laptop or PC via USB-C or USB-A. This dock has a small foot print and power switches when you don't need to use it. This dock is very durable and well made. This dock functions flawlessly so far and I am very happy. The price is spot on.laura

It's a really good docking station for having an internal hard drive as an external near my desk. The fan has been really helpful in keeping the hard drive at a cool temperature. The noise of the fan is not extremely noticeable, just a bit more than my PC is which is not a problem at all.I love the fact that it also has a bay for my M.2 SSDs, although I have yet to use that functionality as I have been sticking to my larger 3.5" HDD drives.steveb

I bought this to improve my transfer rates when copying SSDs. While I don't get anywhere near 10Gbps, it did double the transfer rates I had been getting with other USB based adapters. I get around 2000 Mbps when I am copying drives rated at 3000 Mbps. Previously I was only getting around 800 Mbps with the same drives. It should be noted I also purchased a PCI-E USB C card to plug this in to as my motherboard does not have any USB C ports.bri

Having several old drives that I needed to pull data from, I got this to do a very specific task but ended up keeping it operational for a while as extra temporary storage on one of my old, but better, drives. It’s great to be able to access the old data again and the setup is really easy. Using USB instead of serial is a great feature. The drives push into place and don’t wiggle - so I would say it’s a decent quality and it goes about as fast as the old drives could go - which feels slow compared to today’s drives, but that’s a limitation of the hard drives and not this reader.
