"This was a highly anticipated conclusion to Raffa and Guinevere's (Vera's) intense love story. Giana Darling has once again created a world that's easy to get lost in, filled with characters you can't help but love.What I Loved:The story picks up with Vera back in the U.S., miserable and missing Italy—and Raffa. Their powerful connection is the heart of this book. Raffa is as compelling as ever, a man torn between his all-consuming love for Vera and the dark demands of his life as a Capo. I loved watching Vera's journey as she becomes entwined with Raffa's family, his vineyard, and his world. The revelation about her own mafia lineage was a fantastic twist that perfectly set her on the path to accepting Raffa and the life he offers.The plot is packed with everything you want in a dark mafia romance: betrayal, shocking lies, sizzling SPICE, and heartfelt moments. The mystery of "The Venetian" kept me guessing until the very end, and the final reveal was a brilliant shock. And that cliffhanger at the very end? I had my suspicions, but the confirmation was still a fantastic surprise!As always, Giana Darling makes you fall in love with the entire cast. The found family Vera builds with Raffa's "brothers" was a highlight.Why Not Five Stars?My only critique has nothing to do with the story itself, but with the long wait between books. The second book was released over six months after the first. By then, I had read so many other books that I couldn't remember the crucial details and cliffhangers from the first one, forcing me to do a full re-read before starting this one. For a duet that relies so heavily on ongoing plot threads, a shorter release gap would have made the reading experience much smoother. And no epilogue years years in to see where they are.Overall:Despite the long wait, this was a satisfying and thrilling conclusion to a captivating duet. If you loved the first book, you will absolutely devour this one."
