"This product will sharpen about a dozen knives, give or take. After that the course “diamond” grit wears off, leaving the smooth metal underneath. This product was designed to wear out, causing the user to continue purchasing new stone discs after every few uses.After trying multiple “easy” knife sharpeners and methods, with this being the latest, I’m convinced that you would be better off spending $250-$300 and buying a tri-stone to learn how to hand sharpen your knives. In about a week of practicing - watch a few YouTube videos - you’ll have your own angle down, and have a house full of razor sharp knives.Don't fall for this gimmick unless you only plan on sharpening a few knives throughout your life.I’ve edited this to add a photo of the worn course roller/stone. As you can see, nearly 50% of the grit is worn off, making it unusable."

I like it. I don't know if I'd say it produces "razor sharp" edges, but they're plenty good enough to slice ripe tomatoes or anything else I'm cooking. I have found best results using the 15 degree edges (some Zwilling and some Victorinox... mid-level knives at best). And best to give it a couple minutes at least on each edge first time around. I'm sure other methods might produce better results, but this is easy, quick, requires no skill, and works great.jesse arndt

Absolutely the knife sharpener everyone needs! I am not an affiliate or paid for reviews, I am a chef and it’s by far the best sharpener I have. I’ve already bought 6, one for me and the rest as gifts. Don’t waste your money on any other roller sharpener brand. Horl is the one you should get. I’m blown away at how easy it is to use. No set-up, just grab it and away you go. For maintained knoves it only takes a few min and you are back to work with a sharp blade. If you cook you need this!michael

I use wet stones all the time and I can sharpen very well with them. Wet stones are time consuming though and requires a lot of effort. I have many knives from chef/kitchen knives to hunting, fishing, and bushcraft knives. The only knives I don't recommend this for are knives with a Scandinavian grind. Everything else including my pocket knife for every day carry it keeps them shaving sharp like a razor blade. It takes minimal effort. Honestly I do 50 course and 50 fine and then strop and they will shave your leg bald. Highly recommend this if you want to keep your knives in tip top shape without spending a lot of time and effort. Its expensive but it delivers.zac
