"I needed a faster external HDD bay, and I also needed a replacement SD and MicroSD card reader, so this looked perfect. It is not. First, you have to line up the drive perfectly, by pushing them over towards one side manually to make them fit. There are no built in assistive guides to help. The drive bay covers are pointless as a dust cover because there is a permanent slot cut out in the shape of a 2.5" HDD. The springs on these pointless covers apply too much tension and require more than expected force to overcome. My particular unit was assembled improperly and has what is supposed to be a hidden internal wire crossing over my SD card port, so i have not even been able to test that port yet. The MicroSD port requires that you put the card in upside down. The power switch is located on the back left, instead of a more logical top, or right hand back side. The "One Button Drive Clone" button is where you would expect the power switch to be. I hope you do not accidentally destroy your data by initiating a copy when you just meant to turn the device on. Also, the 2 USB ports, the MicroSD port, and the SD card port require the unit to be fully powered up to work, instead of being USB powered passthrough connections.In my own unit, the base plate was not installed properly, so the unit does not sit flat, causing my 7200RPM HDDs to vibrate loudly. As mentioned, there are not drive insertion guide paths to reduce this, nor are there any rubber dampeners where the side of the drives meet the case. also, actual SATA ports that the drives connect into are to tight. I expect failure after a moderate numder of drive swaps. On the plus side, once installed, my tested HDDs are running at their full rated SATA speeds, but through USB, which is lovely. No sketchy third party driver required on Windows 10.Bottom line, it is mediocre quality and quality control with several glaring design flaws and annoyances.if it is your intent to put a couple HDDs in it and leave them in, this may work for you, if it worked out of the box to begin with.If you are going to be swapping drives regularly, or expect the USB and Card reader ports to work without the device being fully powered, this is not for you.This device will not tolerate computer repair shop use, or moderate use in general.also, the card reader ports are just press in and hope for the best, not spring loaded install/eject ports.I cannot recommend this device."
