"My daughter started reading these as a reluctant reader. I was looking for something that would peak her interest and yet not be too frustrating. This book definitely hit the target; what little girl wouldn't love to find out her pony is really a unicorn?! The story is sweet and it's nice to see the main character have a good relationship with her parents without the usual whiny, bratty behavior. I'd say the series is good for kindergarten to around 3rd grade depending on how well your child reads."

We read it together at bedtime, large chapter books are a little big for her still, but the content is understandable for a 6 year old and it is well-written.
