"The media could not be loaded. I'm a photographer, so I have way more rechargeable gadgets than most people. I work mostly overnights photographing the night sky, so a great flashlight matters a lot to me. This ThruNite flashlight is incredibly bright, but the controls are really frustrating.Why couldn't they simply have "high, medium, low" settings on the thumb wheel? Instead, you gotta remember double click for high, hold down to "cycle through" levels, and be careful not to triple-click or it'll start flashing really fast. Worse? The clicking instructions work about 10% of the time, which is just annoying. You just keep turning it off and on by mistake instead of changing modes, trying to get the double-click speed or "hold down" timing just right.I hate devices that are overly complicated for no reason. If I don't use this flashlight for a while, no way I'm going to remember all the silly click settings to change the brightness. A flashlight should NEVER need instructions, IMO. I have enough stuff to keep track of, you know? Just gimme a simple "high, med, low" switch on my flashlight. It also doesn't seem to have any indicator to check or show the battery percentage? I expect it'll just go off at any time with no warning.On the upside, battery stayed strong for over an hour last week outside when it was under 10°F, so that's good. The extreme cold seemed to have no impact, which is impressive. It's a sturdy little device, too, all metal and super durable. Its small size is very convenient. So, basically it's a great flashlight with terrible controls."
