"The media could not be loaded. I recently upgraded from the PortionPro Rx to the PawsPik Automatic Microchip RFID Pet Feeders, and as a long-time PortionPro user, I’m genuinely impressed. You can really tell the company took customer feedback seriously because this new model feels like a true upgrade in multiple areas, not just a small refresh.The biggest improvement is the food dispensing system. Instead of the older design, it now uses a gravity-fed setup with a silicone propeller, which works much better and feels far more dependable. It also eliminates a major pain point from before. There’s no rubber belt to worry about breaking. The portion control is excellent too: you can set servings as small as 1/8 cup, go up to 1/2 cup per feeding, and schedule up to 10 feedings per day.Another major upgrade is the door mechanism. In my opinion, the PortionPro/PawsPik feeders already had one of the most secure doors on the market compared to other RFID feeders, but the older model was noticeably loud. That issue has been greatly improved. The new door runs much more quietly, which makes a huge difference day to day.The RFID tag is also much better. It’s smaller, more comfortable, and best of all, it doesn’t require batteries. I know many people will buy this feeder for the microchip-reading feature, but in our case, our cats already wear collars all the time, so using the tag is still easy and doesn’t bother them. Having the option to use either microchip or RFID tag adds a lot of flexibility and makes the system even more user-friendly.Lastly, the app is a big step up. It’s far more convenient than relying on buttons on the feeder itself. You can schedule meals, remotely open or close the doors, and also view meal records, like how often your pet visits and how long they stay at the feeder.Overall, we’re extremely happy with this upgrade and would highly recommend this feeder to anyone considering an RFID or microchip pet feeder."
