The media could not be loaded. The short review is simple , this is a total waste of money if you want a cake stand and nothing about this product is premium. . Story time , we were having people over for Christmas and my wife wanted to make a cheesecake for everyone. We do not have people over that often so she just ran to dollar store and bought a cheap cake stand. I was actually surprised how good it was for the price but I wanted to get her something better for her . In my head i thought if you are spending $20-$30 just on ingredients for a cake , it deserves to be on a nicer stand. I look up cake stand , find this one, it looked great, it was on sale for $35 and it would arrive on Christmas Eve . I was elated ! It comes in on time, I noticed the box felt really light but to be honest I didn’t think much about it as we had so much to do . Come Christmas she unwrapped it and the first thing I noted was the lid… literally the couple dollar, dollar store lid felt like a premium lid compared to this lid. Now to the base , the words light weight can not be understated, this came to bite us. Now to the the actual functionality , you have a cheese tray on one side and if you put the bowl in the center of the cheese tray and flip it over you get a “cake stand” the problem as we found out later is the bowl does not fit even remotely tightly . I wish I would have thought this through. So The night comes , people come over and we go to cut the cake , literally as soon as we take off the lid and touch the cake, the stand separates and the cake falls to the floor… I felt horrible for my wife . In my head when we were putting it “together” I noticed it was wobbly but I assumed the manufacturer knew what they were doing and once we placed something on it with weight we would be all good but that is far from reality . So if you are looking for a cheese tray , technically it would work , do not use the bowl for dips or as a stand, the lid is embarrassingly cheap and the word premium should never be used to describe this item.brian lane

This is very attractive and durable. I was a little disappointed at first that the lid was not made of glass, but then I realized if this is intended to serve cake, there will probably be children around at least some of the time, and something more durable makes sense. It's not a lightweight, fragile plastic. It has sufficient weight to keep a decent seal.The dark wood is very pretty. I’m quite happy with this.kerry andrus
