"Literally hooked from the start! Finally had to force myself to put it down at 3am🤣Nina is going through some serious stuff after being assaulted in her own home, and with very also being a famous actress and wanting somewhere peaceful to rest and recover, she books into a beautiful luxury Ranch resort.Then we add in some Maverick, sexy kinda cowboy/single dad to the cutest kid ever! He some how manages to find the perfect balance of being there for Nina for the hard stuff but also still being themselves no matter what. It's just perfect.I loved all the ups and downs in this book, the story had me dying to find out more all the way through and the supporting friends and family were all just amazing too, I seriously can't wait for the next one. This is definitely one to check your TWs on as well, there are references to SA and their survivor journeys.I bought it on the 99p deal right now, but I ordered the paperback before I even got halfway!"

To recover, she hides away at Hunt Ranch, a family-run destination that quickly becomes her safe place. Especially after meeting a gentleman of a cowboy. Enter, Mav.Nina’s story is heartbreaking and threaded throughout the plot, with Fletcher’s writing revealing bit by bit the trauma that she suffered in a way that keeps you hooked. You learn the truth along with the characters, providing insight to the individual personalities written from a third-person perspective.This book was so much more than just a romance between the two main characters. It has a strong element of the importance of both found family and real family. The need for support and letting people help (and accepting it when they don’t give you a choice).Both main characters have their own tragic past, with Mav torn between helping Nina and keeping his own daughter safe. That pivotal moment when the realisation that he can in fact, do both, is the best part of a single father trope.“He had reminded her that somewhere, deep inside, the woman she had been still existed.”Night Rider is fast-paced, with the ideal amount of romance and plot twists to keep you turning pages. As Nina’s story unravels, Mav’s inherent need to protect becomes swoon-worthy. Being protected and supported by a cowboy? Yes please.“It was just the two of them, spinning into eternity, together.”The heavy backstory allows for a deeper element to the plot, and Nina’s development as a character is truly admirable. The main characters romance progresses into one of trust and the strong element of family provides an element of hope.“Nina knew that roots grew when they were watered, and that family didn’t have to be connected by blood. Family could be made.”With the perspective of other characters, (we all need a friend like Markus), seeing Nina and Mav’s story from the POV of others provided another layer of understanding of the complexities of their relationship. As well as a need for more instalments of Hunt Ranch – Sierra and Benji’s story please!!“And if I can love you as much as I do at your lowest, God only knows how much I’ll love you at your best.”Night Rider well and truly put me through every emotion possible. The personal growth and individual strength of each one is just as addictive as the romance.“I need you like I need my next breath. Wow! I loved this so much. I went into it with no expectations, just seeing a new cowboy romance that had a pretty cover and it being 99p on KU and I was sold 😅 but it totally blew me away. I struggled at first with the third party narration, but actually after a while, I understood why. I don’t think it could have got across the complexities and insights into all the different relationships and friendships without it.Although this is a romance, and Mav is definitely now in my top 10 book boyfriends, it’s also incredibly emotional and beautiful with the way it works through trauma and sexual assault. I empathized with the FMC so much and I just adored how much he cared for her. His patience and his gentle nature was just really special. I also loved the suspense element in the last quarter where you discover who her attacker is.One of my favourite tropes is single dad so to say I was thrilled at this addition was an understatement 😂 my heart also physically ached for Sierra and Benji, can’t wait for the next book! This swoon worthy single dad will knock you off your feet!Nina is guarded, hurt and recovering from an assault. This blockbuster actress keeps her circle small and finds it hard to trust, with fears that plague her not just from recent events but also her upbringingThe chemistry between Maverick and Nina unfolds beautifully, the tender moments and how Sloane brings them together, gave me all the warm gooey feelings you want from a small town country romance. The spice was also written well, with thoughtful care for what Sloane had been through while still being deliciously sexy.It’s not all smooth sailing, the mystery surrounding Nina’s assault unfolds with just a few flashbacks in time, and the suspense and twist towards the end has your heart thudding.Sloane also delivered when it came to the cast of characters! This book was such an emotional journey and deals with the aftermath of trauma and heartbreak. For nina her trip to the ranch is about healing and moving forward after she has experienced something awful and we see how she deals with it and also the grief and PTSD alongside this. I loved watching her growth in the book and the strength she found with Mav and her friends.Mav is the single dad who runs the ranch, hes so sweet and patient and literally had me melting. All the charm and support. Id love a Mav in my life.Their story is beautiful and heartrenching and I also adored the other characters mixed in. Markus is a personal favourite and Im really intrigued by Sienna and Benjis story too.Although the timeline seemed a little quick given the severity and complexity of the situation, I still massively enjoyed it and the different tones throughout. Theres a lot of depth to the story and I think Sloane handled it really well.Recommend to read the TW beforehand.4.5 starsWhat Customers Talk About
