My MacBook Pro is 13 years old, the power supply was showing wires near the connector, the insulation sheath was coming off. So I went on Amazon looking for a replacement. After researching exactly what model I had, I found several that fit the bill. There were models that had quite a few negative reviews mostly about overheating issues. This charger seemed to have many positive reviews. It works just like the original and doesn't overheat. In fact I think it cooler than the original.johnb
