"I have tried several Hall effect keyboards and was not satisfied with the majority of them, this one was the first to impress me. This board is built well and the body is pretty the FR4 plate gives off a nice resonance when I type without being metallic and does not have any rattle.Very responsive which is what I expect from an HEKB and the sound quality isn’t as hollow as others that I have tried. Caps were basic, no knob, and wired only, but these aren’t necessarily negatives.Now for the real question: where does it fall short?Firstly the RGB is VERY dim and I am not a fan of the multicolor modes that Epomaker uses in their boards because it’s a lot of pastel colors which really dampen the effect.The switches are just okay, not the best sounding but far from the worst. They’re a tad too light for me so I swapped them out for Magnetic Jade pros and those sound wonderful due to the FR4 plate that really brings out the marble-like sound of the bottom out when I type.Then there is the shortcomings of the build quality. even though I stated that it was well built, there is creaking when I put weight on the plate and the plastic feels pretty cheap but the stiffness makes up for it.Lastly, the lackluster software… I don’t even bother using it as it’s just not that good. If you’re just adjusting the actuation force than fair enough, but if you’re looking for any more depth you’ll be disappointed. I am VERY critical of the keyboards I try as I’ve come to expect a certain level of depth and attention to quality. I was going to rate this 3 stars but for the price I cannot say that this isn’t worth it for those looking for a good sounding and decently made wired HEKB."
