"用途はスマホや過去デジカメで撮った写真のバックアップ及びドキュメント類の保存。一人で使用。SMBでスマホから接続しバックアップも取れるし、ドライブをマウントすればエクスプローラーで簡単にファイルのコピーも可能。バックアップを取るだけならばとても扱いやすいです。ただ、普段はOneDriveを使用しているため、そのような写真の一覧化くらいはできるだろうと思っていたけどそこに罠がありました。たしかにSynology Photosを使えば一覧化はできるかもしれませんが、一覧化するためのフォルダが決まっており、ただバックアップとしてファイルをコピーしただけではSynology Photosに読み込まれません。（Synology Photosに読み込ませるためにはPhotosというフォルダに入れなければいけない。）また、アプリも少なく、画像・動画・音楽くらいは見ることができますが、GPSログを見るというようなこともできません。エンタメ性はほぼ皆無ですね。既存のアプリのラインナップを見る限り、そういう遊びに使えそうなアプリが今後増えることは期待できなそう。ApacheやPHPはインストールできるようなのでWebサーバを立ち上げて、Nextcloudとかをインストールしたほうが自分の用途にはいいのかもしれませんが、逆を言えばそこまでしないといけないのか、と。ハード面は本体のカバーがプラか樹脂のようなものでできているため防音性能はほぼ皆無。駆動中ファンは静かですが、HDDのカリカリという音がうるさいです。あとファイルのインデックス処理にもすごい時間がかかります。仕方がないので当初の目的は諦めてOSのバックアップ先として使おうかと思っています。"

I am still relying on cloud locations for primary working storage, so this device, for me, is not a cloud replacement.I found it to be incredibly easy to set up. From the time I was unboxing it to the time I had it on my network, with OneDrive syncing to it, couldn't have been more than 10 minutes. I was very hesitant to go with Synology due to their brief "Our hard drives only" phase, to the point that I said I will consider any other brand before I go with them. So I did try a couple others, one of which was way more powerful, but the software on both felt like they were still in early beta testing and there was little documented support, so you had to rely on a random reply in Reddit that hopefully had the correct answer.The Synology software, however, is very polished and easy to navigate. The options in the apps are also relatively easy to understand. It was very easy to setup, is quiet and easy to maintain. Definitely recommend this over other brands if you want something that is easy to use out of the box.Anonymous
