"I have a high speed analog application where shielded twisted pair is a sensible choice for interconnect. I bought these thinking they would be an upgrade for an existing test fixture but they turned out to have about 8% greater noise than the 2' long Cat6 cables they replaced.I got bored so I cut one of the cables open to see how they are shielded. There are 4 twisted pairs, each one wrapped in aluminized mylar. The outside is insulated but if you unwrap the mylar and grab the inside surface with a grabby hook it conducts very well. (< 0.1 ohm between two nearby hooks)Unfortunately only one of the 4 pairs was properly connected to the shield on the connector. It had a stranded drain wire inside the shield, while the other 3 did not. 2 of the others were simply not connected at all and the 3rd connected with 3-5 ohms of resistance, indicating a very poor/flakey connection.Sigh. You get what you pay for.... these are going in the trash."

I just bought a new computer, but haven't received it yet. Will update after I hook up the new computer with windows 11.Update: I kept this cable just in case, but I ordered a 20 ft and it worked out perfectly with a couple of feet to spare.
