"I couldn't find an alternate so I am using another one of these. I installed one in January 2021. I checked it in January 2023 because it has a 2 year warranty. It was almost completely dissolved and just a rusty wire. My water tank was not getting the protection. I replaced it and will replace the 2nd one in 18 months this time."

No issues installing, we will see how long it lasts in my tank. It appears to be a good quality product. Good price vs the local stores in my area. The one I removed was way past its prime.

Bought this to start replacing the anode rod in my water heater after nine years of doing nothing to it. Had a lowboy that was working fine for over 15 years but management suggested all residents in the building to replace their water heaters because some had already failed and caused water damage to other apartments. But the hired plumbing company bought a full size Rheem from Home Depot and now I have little head room to work with. So thanks to having these type of anode rod for that. But as soon as it arrived, I am finding water in the bottom pan under the water heater. So with the Home Depot bought water heater being over 10 years old I am waiting to do this replacement.

Easy to switch with the old anode, works great, very happy. Used in an old farmhouse with a well, and it almost immediately got rid of the rotten egg smell. Would absolutely purchase again. Very great item for the price.

I change mine every 3 years. As a master plumber I encourage this practice. Water heater replacement is expensive and a failed heater can cause catastrophic water damage. You can extend the life of your heater by years.
