"These are probably my favorite IEMs. I've got Sennheiser IE80s, JVC FX-700's, AKG Q701's, Ultrasone Pro 750's, and Beyerdynamic DTX-501p's. I've also tried AKG K3003i's and Shure SE535's.These offer a "fun" sound signature - it is by no means balanced or neutral. I was shocked at the amount of bass they had, especially considering that these are a Shure product. They have a definite (slightly exaggerated) sub bass that rumbles pleasantly when needed. Bass in general is powerful, punchy, but controlled and not muddy at all. As you'd expect from a Shure IEM, the mids are detailed and quite forward. Highs are slightly clipped but this also helps reduce listening fatigue from sibilance.Noise isolation is fantastic to the point of severely occluding situational awareness - these cut nearly all outside sound. This allows for a more focused listening experience and also keeps volume levels down.Build quality is typical Shure - high quality, dense plastic housing with lots of accessories. Unfortunately the cable that is packaged with these IEMs has a really thick jack which probably won't fit your phone case. I found this unusual as Shure oriented the SE215's as a portable-focused headset."

This represents my first purchase from Shure, and I am quite pleased with them. I'm a long term Sony listener, but when my MDR-500s died on me, I replaced them with some XBAs. While I liked how cheap and light the XBA-1s are, they are seriously lacking bass support, and they are not as sound isolating as the MDRs had been. I weathered that for as long as I could, but an impending series of flights and car trips mandated better listening, and I was really missing bass.In the box, you get one cable, the IEM units, 3 pairs of grey silicone ear pieces (S, M, L) and three pair foam ear pieces (S,M,L) with the M black foam mounted out of the packaging. Inside is also a canvas, zippered, earphone bag with a pocket for your spare ear pieces. Lastly, a cleaning tool is included. All in all, a nice set of accessories.I have been extremely happy with the response of these headphones. Crisp highs without being painful, and great bass and sub bass response from a single driver unit. This is also the first IEM I have owned, so it's nice to have a sound stage present. They really sound great. The mold-able over ear hooks are quite comfortable, as are the silicone ear pieces (I wear the medium/green sony pieces, and the middle sized silicon Shure pieces fit me perfectly). They block A LOT of sound! I usually listen to these at work, and I routinely use my iPod now on one or two clicks of the volume rocker above mute now, where before I had it halfway up. I like the blue color, and the plastic build feels solid and well made, so I don't feel as though I am going to break them. The removable cables do pivot around where they attach to the monitors, which took some getting used to when handling cables and inserting the unit into my ear, but now it's a quick and comfortable process. The cable on these is of fantastic quality. It is a little stiffer than I am used to on an IEM, but that doesn't hinder my use at all. The limited edition comes with a shorter cable than their sister model, but I find that length to be quite manageable, it's perfect for pocket length with enough left to move around. The jack is very sturdy! It also fits into the opening on my otterbox for my iPod, despite being nearly 1cm in diameter. My only real complaint with these is that changing the ear piece from the black foam that was mounted in the factory to the silicone piece was really, really difficult. I was worried I was going to rip or permanently damage the foam by trying to get it off. That said, I DID eventually manage to gently remove it, and astonishingly, the massive amount of squishing I did to the foam piece repaired itself. So, after that small inconvenience, I have no complaints.Hands down the best IEMs I have ever owned. If you like electronic music, these are absolutely phenomenal. Shure lived up to their reputation with this product. Highly recommended!dennis hinkle

for its price it produces a fair sound. people who say it has a fun sound sig actually mean that the drivers are tuned to the low end, mids are a little muffled and highs are chopped. the single driver can only do so much. and not being a balanced armature drive it has to cope with producing a wide band of sound. i will say that for my personal musical taste this is an easy product to recommend. it thrives when playing bass heavy music, jazz, rnb rock, soul, classical and to some extent hip hop/rap. your mileage may vary. i found that when playing hip hop or rap, there wasn't enough clarity and the flow of the artist was somewhat muffled or distorted. imho i think the driver isn't capable of keeping up with high tempo music.but it excels where other earphones of this price fail. firstly after the earband has seasoned and you find a fit. the wearabilty of the product is beyond belief, i managed to wear them 4 hours straight; after-which i didn't realize i even had them on. sound isolation is impressive. on buses, i couldnt hear anyone once the volume was at 60% it becomes almost claustrophobic! kudos for the foam tips. they are far more comfortable and the give better isolation that silicon tips. in conclusion the pros out weigh the cons. if you have been on the fence about this product and are looking to replace your broken beats ;) these are a fine replacement. you may be disappointed in terms of bass and highs or even clarity. but once you get used to the sound sig. they are oddly loveable. p.s. imo there is no such thing as burn in for these products. i have not noticed a difference in sound sig after 50 hours + of usage.dimitri

I bought these primarily for use in the gym. I specifically chose the LTD Edition for two reasons, they had a shorter chord and the were a little more pronounced in Bass. This was important to me as I had heard that the chords on Sure earphones were heavy and not suitable for use during training/gym. Also I listen to Club/house type music when I train and a slightly heavier Bass set really compliments this type of music. The Earphones arrived in very good time and as advertised. These are a Japanese import so can't vouch for warranties etc. I was also very sceptical of the over-ear design and the comfort afforded with this arrangement. I'm glad to say that on every account these earphones did not disappoint. The chord, though heavy, is perfect. Just long enough to attach to my iPod that I clip on my T-shirt or pocket. No loose chord at all and it stays nice and flush with my body not hooking onto any equipment. The fit is superb, perfect fit out of the box and these completely isolate any external noise. (For those that regularly run outside and need to listen to road traffic etc these may not be suitable) They remind me of what a hearing aid might fit like. I changed the medium foam earpieces (be very careful when removing these) for the medium silicone ones and they fit just as nicely.Though I appreciate the Bass I was quite surprised at how much Bass there actually was. Not overpowering and Shure manage to get the balance just right without drowning out the highs. Audiophiles listening to classical or acoustic vocal type music may not enjoy the extra Bass.I'm very happy with this product and especially the over-ear concept. Very secure fit and at no time is there any need to readjust the earpieces during a workout. I'm a Sure convert and will be purchasing exclusively from this manufacturer in the future.b hepler

I use these with my motorcycle Bluetooth intercom communicator/helmet cam thing. The plugs are a good fit in my ear canal so that they significantly cut down on wind noise and they're slim enough that the helmet lining doesn't push them into my skull. Sound quality is definitely better than my previous speaker setup. My only complaint is that the detachable nature of the ear buds is occasionally inconvenient as it will detach while the helmet is on. Fixing it is simple, but I have to extract my head from the helmet, pull out the ear bud, pull off the wire lead, reattach the two, put it back in my ear and then carefully replace the helmet. It's annoying, but I'm getting better at not dislodging the ear bud. What Customers Talk About
