"I purchased these to use w/ my Lodge 5 qt cast iron dutch oven. I have a skillet w/ a long silicone handle holder that I really like. I'd read reviews on different pot holders w/ silicone on them. Many times, the reviewers complained that once they'd picked up the pan, they didn't feel secure or the item stuck to the cast iron making putting the dutch oven down difficult. I love these handle holders. My dutch oven & it's lid have 2 handles each. I don't recommend cooking w/ the handle protectors left on. While they are safe to higher temps, you don't want them hot when you go to pick up your pan. I place the covered pan in my oven & twist the lid so that the handles are lined up. When I need to take it out of the oven, I simply slide the handle protector over both handles on each side & remove the dutch oven to a bamboo trivet. I then take the holders off & use them to twist the lid so the handles are no longer lined up. Then I slide the handle holders over just the lid handles & remove the lid. I place the lid on a bamboo trivet while I tend to my meal. To return the pan to the oven, I simply use the holders to pick up the lid, replace it on the dutch oven, line up the pan handles & lid handles, & then slip the holders over both handles on each side. I find they fit well, don't slip, are easy to remove, provide great protection, & are easy to clean. I have nothing negative to say about these. I have my eye on a 9 qt Lodge dutch oven. The lid on that one has 1 handle in the center along w/ a metal handle that goes from one side to the other. But the pot has the 2 side handles which I believe will work just as well w/ these holders. I keep them w/ my cast iron cookware. So, when I pull out a pan to use, I pull out my silicone holders at the same time."
