"Disclaimer: I have SUPER sensitive ears, both when it comes to loud noise and having anything in them.If I'm in an environment that is too loud, my ears buzz like a blown out speaker and physically hurt - so I couldn't go to any concerts or big sporting events. Even dance clubs and bars were risky.I also cannot stand earbuds, they are physically painful to me immediately upon putting them in my ears. I can only use on ear headphones even for hands free (yes I look ridiculous). So when I talk about comfort, I'm speaking from that perspective.I'm evaluating these earplugs based on using them at concerts/music festivals, where I still want to be able to hear.Loop Experience Pro Earplugs$40Best sound, sounds the most like someone just turned down the volume rather than muffling it, but still muted enough for my super sensitive ears. My ears cannot tolerate earbud headphones, so the fact I can tolerate these at all is a testament to how comfortable they are. But with my sensitive ears I've found I can't quite wear these for a full concert - so I save these for the bands/songs I care about hearing the most clearly. I use the SureFire for everything else. But if you ears are ok with any type of Earbuds headphones, I'd recommend just these alone.SureFire EP4 Sonic Defenders$15Best comfort, but some of the higher tones get lost (as happed with all of the other ear plugs too other than loop). Has a cap for the earplugs tube you can have open or shut to allow more or less sound. I tend to use these with the cap closed for most concerts until the band I came for starts playing, then I switch to the Loop for the better audio quality. If for some reason I was forced to choose to only use one set of earplugs, I would choose these. But also my ears are SUPER sensitive about anything being in them even in the slightest, it causes me physical pain. If you can tolerate any type of earbud headphones, I'd recommend the Loop Experience Pro Earplugs instead. But if you're on a budget, or you have super sensitive ears like me, these are Amazing!Eargasm High Fidelity Earplugs$50Didn't work for me, I couldn't get them in a proper position to seal and Stay sealed. They kept loosening and popping out (not enough to lose them but enough to lose all of the noise reducing effect). So I bought these to use on my jet ski so the wind noise didn't destroy my ears thinking I could just pop the filter plug open and closed easy when needed.First off their super comfortable. For some reason I thought the "lock" or whatever it's called would be a hard rubber, but it's super soft and does a great job holding them in my ears. Even when I'm soaked from sweat and lake water. Easily the most comfortable plugs I've used, and they stayed locked in place the entire time I had them in.Unfortunately you need to take the whole plug out of your ear to easily open or close the filter. If you try to close the filter with them in your ear you're going to push the whole plug too deep and potentially hurt yourself, and while trying to open it with the plug in my ear I somehow managed to break the harness that holds them together. I also couldn't just leave the filter open while moving because they whistled like crazy. Only other minor complaint is that they're a little awkward to get in. The actual plug curves up compared to the locks, which probably helps with the comfort, but took me a bit to figure out and actually get into my ear canal.Overall I'm really happy with them, they worked okay on the jet ski. Cut out all of the wind noise but when we stopped to talk I had to pull one out to hear which was not ideal because they're a little weird to get back in. I'll be moving these over to my shooting ear pro where I know I'll love them because that's they're actual intended purpose.eilonthay

I got the medium and now that I've had them for a while, it makes me wonder if ear canals can be different sizes like feet can be, or if I need the small size after all--my right ear seems to work loose a little easier, but not my left. Pushing them back in solves in the problem. Maybe I just have difficult ears. I have the same problem with earbuds.That being said, these are super comfortable! I haven't had to wear them all day, but they're good for a couple of hours and I felt at the time that I could go even longer without a problem. They're a bit tricky to put in the first couple of times, but I like the secure feeling the design gives and I've never had them fall out, like I have with the traditional foam ones. The lanyard provided is a bit difficult to attach, since the lanyard tips are these little balls you have to push through tiny little holes in the earplug, so once it was attached, I've never taken the lanyard off again. It makes it easier to keep track of the things, but maybe for someone else, that would be annoying to remove and reattach regularly. I just keep them in the case and everything is fine.I've used them around circular saws, vacuums, and lawnmowers and they work great for blocking out so much of the noise! Can't comment on how well they do with really loud, constant noise, like engines or shooting or very, very loud equipment, but at least around the average household/office noises, they work very well. I always leave the valves in, so everything is muffled and I'm okay with that because I'm used to it with other forms of ear protection. They seem to do a better job of filtering out the really loud noises than some ear plugs I've had, while still preserving normal voice levels, if that makes sense--maybe that's not how it's supposed to work, but it works great for me! I'm looking at getting a second set for my tool kit, since this set lives in my purse and has saved my ears unexpectedly on more than one occasion.zapnzs

I have been using the Sonic Defenders since the first generation. Since my first pair, these have improved consistently. Overall, I like the product.The primary design of this Ear Pro line is to reduce all noise, and reduce overly loud noises more so than ones of normal volume. It uses a passive design in which a valve on the ear plugs closes (from the sound wave) when higher volume noises or made, but is not closed by low volume things such as voices. To run these as a conventional ear plug, they come with valves you can close so that all noise is reduced.The two things most people seem more curious about is how well this product works, and how comfortable it is. My personal assessment is as follows...-effectiveness-the passive noise reduction does work, but may not work well enough for all users. For example, it reduces the sound of indoor gunfire to a point in which it is still a very unpleasant experience, but manages to reduce the sound enough to reduce the chance of hearing damage. This same situation outside (which will not be as loud) is a different story...these reduce the sound acceptably. So for inside usage, closing the valves may be necessary.-comfort-these are much more comfortable than easier generations. Still, application is key. Adjusting how deep the plug sits in the ear canal, as well as how well the frame rests in the ear, as well as that you have the right size, is absolutely critical to effective function and comfort. Once the above are given attention to, they are comfortable for prolonged wear of numerous hours.Cleaning these is a step that should not be ignored (otherwise, you could get an ear infection). I generally use alcohol to disinfect them, and break down any wax buildup. When used daily, I think these work work for at least a year when properly cleaned. If not properly cleaned, I think they tend to die earlier.So these are not magic, but I think a good product nonetheless. The passive noise reduction can be useful for many people, but it does have some limitations that may not make it the best choice for others.trevor williamson

Ive tried several different kinds of ear plugs, but these are the best Ive worn to date. I use earplugs when riding my motorcycles under my helmet. I want to block loud sounds but still be able to use my comm system in the helmet. The silicone shapable ones work well but can be sticky and stick to the inside of the helmet. The foam ones work great bit after a while start to irritate the canal and block sound a bit too much. The other rubber insertable ones seem to always slide out of my ears. These seem to give just the right amount of noise blockage while allowing my helmet comm system to heard clearly and stay securely in place. As for comfort, even under the helmet I barely know they are there and don’t irritate my ears. These are great.shayd

The media could not be loaded. I began searching for earplugs because certain entertainment activities were too loud and effected my decisions to spend time with my family and friends. Places like bowling alleys, amusement parks, bars, clubs, concert venues and, yes, even movie theaters were too loud to be enjoyable and I had to cover my ears and be very far away. I'm writing this review because when considering this purchase and others like it I couldn't find any reviews that used the products for something like this. I used these ear plugs in the last 4 days at home to sleep, at an arcade, at a batting cage, at a small concert venue, at a mall, in Universal lines and shows, and finally on actual Universal theme park rides both simulated and physical.•They are soft and do actually mold to your outer ear, so putting them on and taking them off quickly can be slightly difficult if you want it in to block sound correctly so when pushed for time make sure they're in beforehand so you can still have time to hold onto rollercoaster grips before the ride starts.•At first the fit in my right ear was too deep and slightly painful, a review I read spoke about being able to readjust by pushing and pulling the inner ear (this was slightly incorrect, they meant the outer ear part) part but it took a while to figure out how. Notice in my video how I'm able to push and pull the outer ear part to be closer or further from the inner ear part creating a deeper or shallower fit.•These didn't create absolute silence, it lowered the intense sounds around me. I did end up having to speak louder to my friends while at the arcade because I misjudged my own voice level with the plugs in.•Theme parks apparently don't like riders wearing accessories like this and going to theme parks and on rides comfortably was the #1 biggest reason for me buying something like this, so it was important that they stay in my ears through intense movement and weren't noticable enough for staff to order them off. These were successful in both ways they didn't move at all, I did wear the little lanyard through my bra strap just in case but it was fine. Sometimes when walking around with them over my shoulders and out of my ears I'd accidentally push one side over my shoulder like when I'd take on and off my jacket but I'd just double check that they were still on me and reposition them every so often•Comes with a free carrying case and tiny lanyard which is very helpful, now I can keep them in my pocket for use in surprise overstimulation events.•It is important for y'all to know that technically I am typically functioning I am only officially diagnosed with overstimulatory for visual stimulation, although I've been avoiding the doctors. So consider that as part of my clout if you will.I'll try to make another review if I change my mind, buy different earplugs for comparison, or need to add anything more.Have fun on those coasters!Update:These tend to be difficult to put in correctly due to them shaping to my ear canal the first wear and not being put in the same way again, so putting them in can take time and even then they tend to hurt and leave me with a headache. Carrying case isn't easy to open and close though it closes tightly, so it broke after a while, however due to the rubbery feel out the outer ear holders I can squish one piece up and put it through the second one so they're tied around my neck until I need them. The sound is pretty good on coasters and during concerts but certain loud movies where the sound echos in the room are still too loud.
