"It is tiny, but bites like a vise grip should.I know these aren’t made in the USA anymore, but the quality is still good.Jaws:The jaws are cast metal and have aggressive teeth cut in them. However he last 1/4” of jaws are actually knurled. It appears to be pressed and no cast or cut in. The tops of the knurles are not exactly pointy, but they look inch sharper than I’m used to seeing on inexpensive tools these days. The body:The body is made of 1/8” (actually probably from 3mm) sheet metal. It still has the shear lines from the die, but For the price Irwin would go out of business trying to grind that out. It doesn’t matter that it’s there anyway.Other little parts:The adjustment screw is surprisingly smooth. Especially considering it’s threading into a tapped hole made of rolled sheet metal. The head has the cutout and marking for a 3mm hex. So I guess if it ever got stuck closed, you could reef on it with a hex key.The rivets and return spring are all bright chromed.Overall a great tool that bites hard; harder than expected from something so small. You may get laughed at, but the tiny vise grips you have are better than the larger ones you won’t carry.Would recommend."

These are nice and robust for such a small tool (3.45 oz 4.5 inches long) IF you get a good one. 1st pair (yellow card packaging) had really bad jaw alignment where only 1 corner touched so i returned it. Second pair (yellow card packaging) the cutters would not meet even when tightened all the way (see pic) so they were non functional so i will return. My third pair had different packaging (blue card) and was perfect. both made in Taiwan blue card was 2g heavier and has a bit different finish stamped "25J" so might be a new manufacturer, yellow card one was stamped "22J".These only make sense for little tool kits or edc. I'd buy the 5wr for a tool box it's about as small as you can go while maintaining a full grip.glenn

This 4 inch ViseGrip fits in your pocket or that little zippered compartment on a backpack to wait for it's next job! So useful, this original style and design and not a knock-off with sharp edges and parts that aren't aligned. I have at least 7 other ViseGrips in various sizes and configurations, and this is the smallest one made, is actually CUTE but it will open and clamp on a 1/2 inch nut (3/4 inch or larger diameter!) I was looking for the one I've had for about 40 years and it seems to be hiding somewhere, so I bought 2, just like that one, but beautiful with no marks yet to show their experiences. Wouldn't you know it, Amazon showed me this 4 inch on the 1st try (when I thought it might not even be made any more...) IRWIN has continued this design as it was; The Original Design. I try to always have a ViseGrip somewhere close-by because this is a really good tool!kathy hamby

Good quality. I have carried the Irwin vice grips in my pocket for 50+ years. I have tried other brands when I could not find the Irwin brand but they do not have the same functionality. When you clamp these onto something it stays put.rodolfo suarez trabazo
