"First the positive. Kim's work is stunning. I've always loved how she uses color. The boxing and presentation is breathtaking. Her guidebook is super thorough and I've always loved how she let's her intuition drive her choices. Also...theres A LOT of cards in this deck. Which may be why I have to add the biggest negative-quality control. My cards had weird line through some of them. The backs are not clear (some are darker than others). Some of the collage pieces are very blurry. The cardstock is a bit thin for my taste. But for 20some dollars and the number of cards...I guess that's to be expected. The guidebook is great, except the first 2 chapters. I'm a bit baffled by what I think was supposed to be authentic and vulnerable and ended up sounding very cliche (editing issue perhaps). Its not often someone going through a dark night of the soul can illicit annoyance from me...but I'm considering cutting the first two chapters out. Finally the comic card warrants some discussion...its borderline creepy. Most of Kim's art (for me) is difficult to read intuitively...but her guidebooks are always awesome-a major contribution to the deck. But this card is just creepy. I can't get over a kitten with its eyes cut out (theres a picture in another review here). I cant make the leap artistically between the card and her words. Now this is the only card that made me recoil...some just made me squint because I could figure out the collage pieces. But recoiling from the archetype "comic"? I haven't gone through the rest of the deck that closely...I'm hoping this is the only card that I truly dont understand.I love Kim's work...I have one of every deck shes done and love em...this was so-so. Her work with archetypes has true depth-the printing and editing may make this difficult to actually enjoy and appreciate."

I use this deck almost daily for my spiritual practices and it has held up to the test of time. The deck itself is practically pristine even with my daily use. The only wear is at the hinge of the outer box, which is to be expected. If you are new to tarot and oracle cards, and not sure as to which deck to choose, this deck can offer a lot of insights. In fact anything by Kim Krans is recommended. Even the most experienced readers I know love her decks and read the accompanying messages, because you really can't get any better info from these cards than what she already spent years creating. The photos below are reflective of almost daily use since May 2024. I'm posting this review in February 2026.

I cannot recommend this archetypes deck, highly enough. It adds so many deep layers to your tarot read the artwork is phenomenal and the nuance is incredible.

This would make a really beautiful gift 🎁 I got it for myself - YOLO - Glad I did!I love the cards although they are not ones that can be shuffled. The book is great in itself too..After doing normal Tarot for as long as I can remember this is a nice change! I like the the questions asked to think on, the suggested reading of poems etc and also the assignments to do for each cardSo far the picks I have made for myself and others have picked have been incredibly accurate and interesting reading!I hope there is more available from the author

Here to be so transparent. Orginally found this deck on shein. It came with no guidebook. I played around with the deck and became frustrated without finding defining meanings. After lots of research searching, Kim did a great job reserving the rights to this deck because it was HARD to find the meanings of the cards. I decided I should do the correct thing and purchase the deck FROM the creator. The effort and beauty that is in this deck, the DETAILS & the boxing 😍. Sadly mine came a little janked up box wise but to Kim you are an amazing artist, a true spirtual creator. You deserve all the credit for this amazing deck. The energy from this deck is soulfully illuminating, my first read had me in tear. Thank you Kim. 💫💖👁

I love this deck and the book. It’s a little tricky to shuffle them since they’re circles but I usually just scramble them on the floor for this deck. Shuffle them with a little baby powder so they’re a little easier to shuffle
