The media could not be loaded. I picked up this Black & Red Tropical Hawaiian shirt for my dad because he’s always complaining that “big and tall” clothes either squeeze him in the chest or leave his belly hanging out when he sits down. He’s 6’2”, carries a bit of extra around the middle like a lot of guys his age, and hates anything too short or too tight. I went with the XL Big Tall in this bold black background with red floral pattern, thinking the colors would pop against his usual polo shirts.When it arrived, he tried it on right away, and his face lit up. For the first time in years, a Hawaiian shirt actually fits him the way it’s supposed to. The chest and shoulders have plenty of room so he doesn’t feel restricted, the waist doesn’t pull across his stomach, and the extra length keeps everything tucked or hanging just right and no riding up when he reaches for something or sits on the patio. The sleeves hit at a good spot too, not too short or floppy.The fabric is super soft and lightweight, that nice polyester-spandex mix that breathes really well here in Miami’s heat. He wore it to a family BBQ last weekend, and it stayed comfortable the whole time, even when the sun was beating down. It washes easy (just tossed it in with the regular load on gentle), hangs dry without wrinkling much, and the red tropical flowers still look bright and sharp with no fading!Dad’s not usually one for flashy clothes, but he keeps reaching for this one. He says it makes him feel relaxed and ready for whatever, like he’s on a mini vacation even when he’s just grilling burgers or running to the store. The pattern is fun without being over-the-top, and he’s already gotten a couple compliments from neighbors. I can tell which item I wear is my favorite because it's the first one that gets worn out of a given load of laundry. And right now it's this hawaiian shirt. It's a vibrant color that is showing no signs of fading or wear after 3 washings. The material is a polyester so the feel isn't the best and it does a very poor job of breathing. There's no stretch to it either. If you're used to cotton then this will feel like a firm step down. In exchange for that though you do get something that absolutely refuses to wrinkle. There are few articles of clothing I can say this about but I would recommend washing it before the first wearing.The arms could be cut a bit wider given it's a big and tall shirt, and due to that no stretch thing it is somewhat unforgiving if it doesn't quite work on you. I got it in 3X and that seems pretty accurate, but if you're on the bubble with a given size then do size up one notch. It's not like a flowing hawaiian shirt is a bad thing, and with this material it does indeed flow as you walk around.Lastly, my coworkers have complimented me on it. I have three nephews that are in the big, or big & tall, category. Every time I get an opportunity to review a product that I think they will like I try to get it for them. This is a nice shirt that comes in nice color options. It is lightweight, comfortable, and stylish. But, like some other reviewers, we found the length to be slightly shorter than preferred for the tall guys. The cut is generous on the width these shirts, so there was no problem with that. But, this shirt ended up being a lite too short for the two nephews that are over 6’3”. The shortest of my nephews is able to wear them just fine so I guess he’s the lucky winner of this nice shirt. Overall, this a great looking and comfortable shirt, but that is lacking slightly in length for the tall guys. Therefore, I felt leaving four stars was fair.What Customers Talk About
