"Beware! These are from a company out of California that has all their products made in China. It is deceiving they do not advertise this. They only advertise they are a couple from CA whose husband engineered this product. They are nice dishes for using the 2 cup silicone molds also made in China. I was not happy about this so will no longer buy from them. I only buy products Made in the USA."

I would consider these mini 2-cup casserole dishes an essential part of the Souper Cube starter set. They have made my life so much easier!! I can thaw overnight in them and pop them directly into the preheated oven, or I can heat them from frozen in the oven or microwave. Just the fact that they are microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe makes them worth it for the ease of use. I adore these and will get the 1-cup as well. I highly recommend buying these as part of your Souper Cube collection.mama says

The media could not be loaded. I'd never owned stoneware baking dishes before and initially only bought these because they fit Souper Cubes, but I've been surprised by how useful they are. I'd underestimated the value of having a container of this size and shape with a lid, where both the container and the lid can handle freezer, fridge, microwave, oven, pressure cooker, air fryer / toaster oven, dishwasher, and works well to eat out of. And people who are concerned about the aesthetics of the dishes that go on the table should be pleased by this too - the colors complement a wide array of dishes. So overall, there's no stopping to think "can it handle it? do I need to change containers?"I tend to overload my 2 cup Souper Cubes, so the frozen cube is a little oversized. Also slotting multiple 1 or .5 cup "Legos" into a 2-cup container often doesn't work, but the capacity on these is just right for baking and reheating one serving of all sorts of casseroles and soups or multiple "Legos" of smaller sized Souper Cubes. A little "hack" we've discovered, though it takes up more freezer space, is freezing in the 2-cup Souper Cube, at different depths, so we can stack half-cup or one-cup "squancakes" on top of each other not just side by side (This also means you could start with just 2 cup everything in Souper Cubes and branch out from there). The silicone lid hasn't taken on weird flavors as silicone tends to do, and the way it fits around the handles serves as a built-in heat protector. I also like to use a clean or steamy lid under a hot baking dish to make it easy to carry to the table. Once you get the knack for getting lids on and off (just do one "ear" first and then pull straight toward the other) it's quite simple, and the lid and the dish are very sturdy.I especially like using these to reheat in an Instant Pot. It prevents that weird microwave texture or "outside lava inside ice" problem. Also you can pop 2 full dinners into the IP hours ahead of time, set it to cook, and it will "Keep Warm" for several hours at a safe food temp. Here's what I do: I use a rack in the bottom (some use metal, I repurpose the bottom silicone part of an egg cooking set since it has handles), put water in not high enough to touch the dish itself, stack 2 of these (two fit in the most common 6qt Instant Pot), and set it on low pressure for 15 minutes for unfrozen or 35 minutes for frozen. I find that mixing frozen and unfrozen works just fine.We have used these a lot for non-Souper Cube situations too, since they stack better and are more durable than our glass storage of similar capacity. Did I mention it perfectly fits a block of ramen and 4oz of chicken that's been frozen in the bottom layer of a 2 cup Souper Cube?People have complained about the price and irregularities in the glaze. Regarding that here's what I have to say:- Competing dishes that accommodate Souper Cubes lack the ridge that lets you stack/nest these without chipping them, and don't have a lid or a good quality lid- I used to work in an industry that sold stoneware and the price reflects real differences in materials, construction, and working conditions of the laborers. These qualities are reflected in how well the item holds up.- Glaze irregularities around a raised design on stoneware are considered normal even in high-end tile fabrication, so the complaint about wee differences in the color around "Souper Cubes" reflects expectations that aren't consistent with this type of item at this price point. It's more of an issue in enamelware which is a different product.- In my opinion (which includes expertise in Stoneware) it's entirely appropriate to pay $20 a dish when it's constructed in a way that will hold up for decades, coming out to pennies per use or even less.coletrane
