"I picked this up for a DIY weather display project, and it’s been fantastic. The best part is the integrated ESP32-S3; it's a true all-in-one board, so you don't have to deal with messy wiring between a controller and the screen. My Experience:The Screen: The 5.79-inch size is sharp and easy to read. Since it’s E-Ink, it has zero glare and looks like printed paper.Weather Station: I set mine up to pull data via Wi-Fi and then enter "Deep Sleep." It updates every half hour, and because it only uses power during the refresh, the battery life is incredible.Ease of Use: If you’re familiar with Arduino or ESP32, it’s very straightforward. Elecrow’s sample code on GitHub gets you up and running quickly.Pros:Crisp, high-resolution wide display.Built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and battery charging circuit.Low power consumption—perfect for "set it and forget it" projects.Cons:Slow refresh rate (typical for E-Ink), so it’s not for real-time data.Bottom Line: If you want a clean, low-power display for a weather station or calendar, this is a much better choice than a standard LCD. Highly recommended for makers! I'm working on a Raspberry 3b+ with sound added to it as well, this display will act as the weather alert last heard."

The display looks good. The construction quality is very good. The only hiccup I ran into was the drivers. The provided drivers are bare bones, but it gets the job done. After a bit of tweaking and testing, I was able to get my project working.lures

The screen quality is excellent, clear, crisp, and easy to read. I love how energy-efficient it is. The display holds the image perfectly without drawing power continuously. It’s perfect for e-paper projects, dashboards, or low-power IoT applications.fb

I received this as a gift for someone working on an arduino project that has been intrigued by e-ink displays. He was exceedingly excited to receive it. I had to send him a link to the listing so that he could have basic information on it though, as the package included zero documentation and nothing on the panel is marked.Once you review the images though, it is very intuitive. It includes basic demo firmware and has a multitude of input and control options. It’s actually an extremely versatile screen that can be used in so many different environments and use cases. The actual screen is super crisp and so satisfying to use, it almost feels magic!Very good price for a solid piece of equipment.country creations

The ELECROW 5.79 Inch ESP32 E-Ink Display is an impressive piece of hardware for developers and hobbyists looking to create low-power, high-visibility human-machine interfaces. With its unique 272x792 resolution, this screen offers a sleek, wide-format display that is perfect for desk dashboards, smart home controls, or digital signage. Driven by the powerful ESP32 chip and compatible with the Arduino IDE, it provides a seamless development experience for those already familiar with the ecosystem. The e-paper technology ensures that the display remains perfectly readable even in direct sunlight and consumes zero power while maintaining a static image. Its SPI interface makes it highly versatile for connecting to various microcontrollers if you choose to expand beyond the onboard ESP32. Whether you are building a custom weather station or a professional industrial control panel, the high contrast black and white output delivers a crisp, paper-like aesthetic that is easy on the eyes.Pros:Ultra-Low Power: E-Ink technology only consumes power during refresh, making it ideal for battery-operated devices.High-Resolution Wide Screen: The 272x792 resolution provides plenty of room for complex data visualizations and text.ESP32 Integrated: Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities allow for easy cloud connectivity and remote updates.Developer Friendly: Fully compatible with Arduino IDE, Micropython, and LVGL for rapid prototyping.Perfect Visibility: Offers a 180-degree viewing angle and remains crystal clear under bright ambient light.Cons:Slow Refresh Rate: Like all e-paper displays, it is not suitable for video or fast-moving animations.Color Limitations: This specific model is limited to black and white, which may not suit projects requiring vibrant alerts. What Customers Talk About
