"This is my first video doorbell and after a lot of research I decided to buy the Ring doorbell and the installation was straightforward and was very happy with the product.I did upgrade my transformer from a 10 to a 20 volt amp at 16Vac. Got the transformer at Home Depot.Got a free 30 day trial subscription from Ring though I am not sure which video plan I am going with, probably the cheapest. All I want to see is a video history of people at my front door. The video quality is great!"

This is my first video doorbell and after a lot of research I decided to buy the Ring doorbell and the installation was straightforward and was very happy with the product.I did upgrade my transformer from a 10 to a 20 volt amp at 16Vac. I love this doorbell! I upgraded from a 2024 Ring Doorbell Plus (battery) as I was both tired of swapping the batteries and ready to take on the task of installing it. My house didn't have wiring for a doorbell so the installation was a struggle.I got an in-wall transformer that I mounted in a code approved box beside an outlet. I then ran a low voltage cable around my door and sealed it in with some white silicone. This made it invisible. Getting out the wall took a lot of measurements and checking angles, but I got it dead on.Once mounted this camera is night and day better than the old one. The image quality is perfect. Better than the Unifi Doorbell Pro I use at my office. It also has a neat feature where it shows the bitrate of the video feed on the screen in the app. I wish they all did this! It is valuable information when diagnosing issues.The app is excellent and really sets the pace for what a smart doorbell like this should be. This is the best option for a video doorbell and there is a reason everyone uses this one. If you have a whole house of Google Home stuff then I'd go with a Google Hello doorbell, but if you are and Alexa house or don't have a home assistant then this one is excellent.I paired mine with a chime module inside that works great! If you have poor wifi at your doorway there is a chime that boosts your wifi to the doorbell. This is commonly an issue as wifi doesn't pass through exterior walls well.At $350 this isn't cheap, but it is amazingly good quality and works reliably. As such I feel it is a great value.lance

There is great clarity on this doorbell cam, the ring app provides great AI features and has some awesome features with its subscription. Tons of perks.Easy to set up and the instructions are clear.It's a slick looking cam too.The Wifi reception on this was pretty darn good aswell.One con was that that i found the speakers to be a tad quiet, I have them maxed out and you cant hear them too well, i hope that they can fix that with a patch or something.The button feels great, the lights are pretty visible.Overall I think this is a step up from the last version, but there is still room to improve.canadian dad of 2 boys

The 4K Ring Doorbell Pro was easy to set-up and install like my previous Ring Doorbells.I do have a wifi mesh system with one of the mesh pods/extenders near the front door so I haven't had too many issues with connectivity. For those who only have a router/pod further from the front door may have issues with the demands of a 4K camera.My previous 2K Ring Camera housing/brackets are not compatible with this 4K model so I couldn't just swap out the main unit. I needed to completely remove the 2K older model to mount and install the new 4K model.There is not a significant improvement in picture quality so if you already have the Ring 2K doorbell then I would recommend not upgrading yet.If you have any doorbell camera that is less than 2K (like 1080p or lower), then you will notice a significant improvement in picture quality.carol

I have used a battery-operated Ring at my front door for years - switching it to this hardwired 4K model has felt like a major upgrade.The video quality is stunning. With Retinal 4K resolution, a wide-angle view, and 10x Enhanced Zoom, I can now see faces and details that I used to just guess at or miss entirely. The footage is crisp, clear, and incredibly detailed. Even in low light it captures everything.I really appreciate that it’s hardwired. I got a bit fed up over time with changing batteries in the winter. They seem to lose charge so quickly in the cold. With this wired model, once it is set up you are doing with maintenance. The doorbell that is always ready protects a lot more than the one you never remember to charge in time!Installation was pretty easy. Since I had an existing doorbell setup, it was mainly a matter of swapping in the new unit and connecting it up.Compared to my old battery Ring, this feels like a real professional-grade device.
