"Update 2:I'm dropping my score from a 5 to a 2 because this issue has become persistent and is a lot more disruptive than my issues with the G7 Pro, especially considering the price. I ordered a replacement and returned the first controller, but unfortunately after a couple days I had my first disconnect mid-game. I also forgot to mention in my first update, but it will often also act like you pressed the Xbox button and open that menu. While that issue is better than a full disconnect, it's still really disruptive. It wouldn't matter for single player games, but it's a huge inconvenience for online multiplayer games because you can't just pause it. I've honestly never had a controller do this and the biggest issue is it doesn't auto reconnect, and there's no quick fix. I tried plugging it in with USB, but then it freaks out thinking it a new controller and won't work. The only way I've found to fix it is holding down the Xbox button for about 10 seconds till it force shuts down, then holding the button again to power up again. It will always reconnect after this and usually is fine for the next hour or two, but you're basically frozen for at least 30 seconds. Which for games like Arc Raiders can be an absolute death sentence. I had this happen this weekend where I was frozen out in the open and had to perform this restart process and almost got downed but a friend was able to protect me. It's honestly bizarre and I don't understand what's happening, because I've owned tons of wireless Xbox controllers over the years, both ones that use the built in wireless and ones that use a dongle, and I've never had one that has hard disconnects like this. I scrolled through the reviews and noticed one after I wrote mine where someone else also is having disconnect issues. So unless Scuf can provide a software update to fix this by the time my return window ends, I'll be returning this one and getting the upcoming ROG TMR controller that comes out later this month.Update 1: I have had issues with the controller randomly becoming unresponsive while playing, but the controller itself gives no indication there's anything wrong (you'd expect some of the indicator lights to let you know). It also will not reconnect automatically. You have to hold the Xbox button down until the controller shuts down, then power it back on and it will reconnect. It happens fairly infrequently, but when it happens in the middle of a game its definitely a hassle. Yesterday I had it happen at the start of a match so I had some time to check, and I did find the light on the USB dongle was blinking. So it does seem the controller is disconnecting. However, I cannot find a pattern that would explain the why it is intermittent. The console never moves, I'm always sitting in the same spot, I don't have anything nearby that would interfere, and it happens during different games.I reached out to SCUF support to see if it was a known issue with a known fix, but they tried to just run me through an RMA. But when I told them I just wanted to find out if they had an easy fix to avoid a return, they told me "Unfortunately, I must confirm that your controller is not supposed to act this way.". So I'm going to return this one and order a replacement to see if it has this same issue. So for the past 2 years, I've been trying to find a better controller for my Xbox. Specifically, I wanted something that had 4 programmable buttons (like back paddles/buttons), adjustable trigger stops, and is reliable; which was actually much more difficult to find than I initially realized. But this is the best controller I've tried that I finally checks all my boxes. It has 4 programmable buttons, the sticks are precise and don't drift or stick, the buttons respond to every press, it feels well built, and as a bonus it's wireless. I'll update my review if I come across anything negative, but the first few days I've been very happy with it. The only real downsides I've noticed are it doesn't currently have a companion app like most controllers have, but it does say one is coming soon. And I'm not as big of a fan of the layout of the back buttons, but it might just be something I get used to.It's still a very good controller otherwise, and until the Asus ROG Rakiri II comes out, this seems like the best/only option available that checks all these boxes. For anyone wondering, here are the controller's I've tried and what made them unsuitableXbox Elite 2:On paper it's a great controller, but the sticks are atrocious. They don't always recenter and will drift if you don't crank the tension all the way up. And after just under 2 years it randomly stopped powering on. If they released this with TMR sticks it would be my preferred controller.Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra:The absolute worst controller I've ever owned. Buttons wouldn't always respond, sticks would sometimes hold in whatever direction you pressed until you powered it fully off and back on, and it would often inexplicably discon"

This was picked up for my son who is an avid gamer. Needless to say he was very excited when I offer it up for him to test on his X-box. Officially licensed by X-Box it's Bluetooth and PC capable making it a fantastic cross platform controller. After a short learning curve my son says this controller definitely elevated his gaming experience. The design of it feels and looks modern and the removable face plate is unique. He had some issues with the Bluetooth connection and a couple of times the controller became unresponsive but it seemed to work itself out and never happened again. He loved the rear paddles and there was no drift. He found it comfortable long gaming sessions as well.Overall he was pleasantly surprised at how much he enjoys this new controller.k0bra kai

The media could not be loaded. I play competitive fps games where precision and reaction time is the most important. I’ve tried many controllers over the years and I can honestly say this is one of the best by scuf.Officially licensed for Xbox, it’s also pc and Bluetooth capable and this is one of the very best cross platform competition controllers yet by scuf. 1k polling rate when wired to pc, trigger stops (mechanical), high quality tmr sticks so zero drift issues and extremely high precision, fully customizable button layout, you couldn’t modify this controller to make it any better. If you notice the pre installed scuf thumbsticks are lower profile, this allows faster reaction time. They also provide extra height thumbsticks (convex) for precision as well. And the easy to remove shell allows you to change thumbsticks with ease. The magnetic faceplate stays on solid, and makes personal customizing easy.I have only two minor issues with this controller and they’re personal choice. I wish the abxy buttons were the mechanical clicking type. I have other Xbox competition controllers that are, and it’s like comparing a mechanical keyboard to a standard one.Secondly you can’t add any thumb caps to the pre installed low profile scuf thumbsticks because they’re so close to the circular ring. But you can easily change thumb caps within seconds and a standard height one would work fine.Solid construction and feel, I had multiple long play sessions with zero delay or disconnects. It took me about an hour to adjust to this scuf valor and I was placing either the same place or higher every round. The volume controls are also a brilliant idea and easy to adjust during gaming. This is one of the best competition controllers I have, to give you an idea if you’re going to try a scuf controller think of an elite controllers features and even more combined in the size and comfort of a series s controller. And all this put into one and officially licensed by Xbox. You can’t go wrong with this valor controller, Amazon has an excellent return policy so try it and you’ll realize what competition grade is all about. And once you adjust to the improved accuracy of tmr thumbsticks, you’ll literally feel the difference and see it in your fps wins.Pros:Competition grade high end wireless controllerOfficially licensed by Xbox, also pc and bt capable1k polling rate when wired to pcFully customizable and programmable buttonsExcellent fit and finishPerfect trigger micro switchesTotal comfort and solid feelRemovable magnetic faceplate, so customizing is easyCons:Abxy buttons I wish were mechanicalLow profile scuf thumbsticks can’t have thumb caps (but can be easily changed)I’ll be using this scuf controller regularly during competition rounds and if I encounter any issues down the line I’ll update my review. Thank you for reading.review gal

I ordered the SCUF Valor Pro Wireless XBox controller for my son, who games frequently on Xbox. He says he's been overall very happy with it and he even pointed out to me when he opened it that it felt like a very premium controller. He mentioned that some YouTubers that he watches use this controller. While I am definitely not an expert in this myself I can tell you my son's experience and what he reports to me.He said that it feels comfortable and solid in his hands even on long play sessions, and that he felt the buttons were very responsive. One of his favorite aspects was the back paddles and he said that once he got used to them it did make a difference in fast-paced games. So far he said the wireless connection has been stable and he hasn't had any issues. Connection was quick and easy. He did say there was a bit of a learning curve with the back paddles but once he was comfortable with them it was a natural motion. He said battery life is decent.Overall he is very happy and it has been a great upgrade for him. It is a higher initial cost, to us the value is there. I have bought him so many other, cheaper but still expensive, controllers and they are all basically gathering dust in the bottom of a gaming basket right now. I don't feel like this is going to end up in the same fate anytime soon.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ = I love it and/or it meets or exceeds claims.⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Hey, this is pretty great. Meets claims, but may be slightly lacking in non-critical area.⭐⭐⭐ = Meh. It's okay but I don't love it. Someone might like it. Falls short in a more noticeable area or not for everyone.⭐⭐ = Not great. Best to avoid. Very noticeable shortcomings or issues.⭐ = Nope. This is bad. Does not meet claims or is harmful in some way.**All opinions are my own and authentic, and written by me.**batman

I used this primarily on an Xbox Series X and a Windows PC, focusing on shooters and racing games, and the rear paddles are the biggest upgrade by far. After a short learning curve, being able to jump, reload, or shift gears without lifting my thumbs off the sticks started to feel second nature. Inputs feel immediate, and the trigger response is noticeably quicker than a standard controller, especially when using the tighter trigger settings on PC. It genuinely helps in situations where reaction time matters. In terms of feel, it comes across as a premium piece of hardware. The grip stays secure even during longer sessions, and the controller does not feel cheap or hollow in the hand. Wireless and wired connections have both been stable with no dropouts or noticeable input lag. Customization options add flexibility depending on the game you are playing, without feeling overwhelming. This is clearly designed for players who care about performance and control rather than casual couch gaming, and it delivers on that focus.kevin

Bought this as a gift and I will be purchasing one for myself. My favorite controller I have used. Completely worth the money. The life of the battery is great and the buttons on the back feel very comfortable. 5/5 highly recommend.holland weber

This is my second SCUF controller, and the Valor Pro Wireless continues to impress with its premium build quality and well-balanced feel. The wireless connection is fast and reliable with no lag and setup on Xbox is quick. The rear paddles are definitely the standout feature, they’re easy to reach, highly responsive, and make a real difference in my games. The thumb-sticks feel smooth and precise. The controller is very comfortable even during long gaming sessions. It was well worth the investment!! I would recommend this controller to my family and friends. What Customers Talk About
