"I've had several of these in the past, but this is the longest one yet, which is great for those hard to reach places. Everything works fine, and its comfy enough to use. It does require a bit more effort/strength to actuate than my other ones, but its still easy enough to use. Only upgrade i could see on this thing is to have a smooth bore or piper around the fingers instead of the coiled metal they used. The fingers tend to hang a bit on them. but otherwise a good little tool to have when you need it."

I've had several of these in the past, but this is the longest one yet, which is great for those hard to reach places. Everything works fine, and its comfy enough to use. It does require a bit more effort/strength to actuate than my other ones, but its still easy enough to use. Only upgrade i could see on this thing is to have a smooth bore or piper around the fingers instead of the coiled metal they used. The fingers tend to hang a bit on them. but otherwise a good little tool to have when you need it.cbm

I was excited when I saw this because I lose hair left and right and I know it goes into the drain. Unfortunately, I had not read the part that said that this tool wouldn’t fit into any openings that were smaller than 0.47. Unfortunately, all the drains that I need to clear out are smaller than that. Like everyone said it’s well-made. I find the grip comfortable, but had a hard time pushing down on the spring. It will help me to get items that fell under the washer and dryer and the refrigerator so it will still be a useful tool for me. Just tried it to access some plastic kitchen trash bags that fell from the shelf above the washer and were in the tight space between the washer and the wall. This worked fine just pulling the bags towards me versus trying to grab them and poke holes in —I was able to retrieve the white kitchen trash bags. Included the photos of my bathroom faucet and drain, there’s just not enough space around the brass piece in the center of the drain to allow the snake to go down. Oh well…true north reviews

This came packed clean in a plastic bag - no noticeable defects. It's pretty easy to squeeze. It would be great to pick stuff up that is stuck under/behind furniture, though it may be a touch short. I picked a shorter version because I really just wanted it for my bathroom sink and knew it didn't need to be too long. I grabbed it as a just-in-case tool, but decided to go into the bathroom sink drain to make sure it fits. The drain is not currently clogged - the snake fits past a little crossbar, and much to my surprise, it brought out a big old pile o' hair and junk. I got this after three failed attempts with liquid Drano and was finally able to unclog my bathroom sink.It came with a fabric glove which not sure you'd use it here since it is not water-proof (I used nitrile disposable gloves instead). The flexible steel coil slides easily into the pipe, grabs the blockage, and pulls it out efficiently, just make sure you do it as the instructions say (before pressing the red handle, retract 1in. when you've reached the clog) otherwise does not work. I was surprised to see all that came out - except for the lego blocks, I find those all over my home - but everything else was pretty gross, so no pictures but it saved me from calling a plumber.Note: The wider part of the snake is 0.47in. so make sure there is enough clearance to insert it wherever you want to use it.paul

Snake arrived zip tied coiled up but easily bends (little coaxing) straight or to other shapes.Not sure of metal so suspect it might rust if not cleaned and dried after use.Claws expand and retract uniformly inside wire coiled head fine.
