"This Toto Washlet S5 replaced my $30 Vekken basic bidet that's been installed for the past five years. Is it 20x better (based off cost)?! That's a high bar and also subjective. There are many features that the Toto has that aren't even in the same category as the Vekken but are they worth it in aggregate? Perhaps...Pros- Easy to install especially if you've already installed a bidet before & fits perfectly on my elongated bowl- Looks great and has excellent hygiene features that keep the overall toilet cleaner longer- Comfortable seat shape- Seat warmer and warm water spray are well done and comfortable (& adjustable!)- Many washing/drying options including personalized settings- Self clean is superior to manual/unpowered bidet- LOVE the bowl light. It has a great, modern feel- Eco features are nice to have to conserve electricity overall- Quiet functionality- Remote is easy to use and intuitive- Lots of plastic but well made and feels durable- Overall works well and does the job with lots of extras.Cons- Water pressure even at highest setting is lower than the Vekken. For some this may be a pro. For me, it just means that "the process" takes longer.- Requires monthly and bi-annual maintenance on water filtration and air filtration mechanisms- ExpensiveOverall, is it worth the upgrade? I'd say so if it were $350 but for $653, it's a bit on the high side. That's the only reason I don't give it more than 4.5 star rating.Overall Recommended!"

there are more features on this bidet than I actually use. There's a bit of a learning curve. but there is a well-written booklet with all the set up and operation and settings. Lots of personal adjustments in temperature, intensity, etc.Two things not mentioned in description that are shortcomings.#1 You cannot sit or put any weight on the toilet seat. so I had to figure out another seating arrangement. In a small bathroom, without space for a chair, you're out of luck.#2 there are a lot of DO NOTs about cleaning this machine because of the electronics. When you clean the bowl, you have to be careful not to get bowl cleaner on the wand or sensors. And for some reason, you can't leave the cleaner in the bowl for longer than 3 minutes before flushing. Also, they only recommend soft cloths and water to clean the seat. I finally found on their web site that you can use a nonbleach cleanser. Clorox does make disinfect cleaner wipes for use on computers and I bought that through Amazon because I couldnt find it locally. Since they're wipes, it's wasteful to use once and throw. So I've been using them a couple of times by keeping them in a plastic bag and just turning them over. Other than those things, and the fact that I might have bought the wrong model because I don't like the seat warmer, it's well designed. It does have eco settings to save energy but I'm still figuring how to use that. It's kind of like learning a new tv remote.s a faust

Finally...After trying several other brands, we were delighted to discover that this bidet was a good fit for big and tall men. All of the elongated bidets tend to fit more like a round. The other brands were unforgiving in that they had either a steep slope or a "wall" at the back of the seat. The Toto S5 has generous wiggle room for tall men.The S5 is feature-rich and has a quality build. The wand position, water pressure, water temperature and seat temperature are all adjustable. Even better, our favorite combination of settings can be saved in up to 4 profiles. The power plug lays flat, which helps to keep the power cord out of the way.The only negative was the price. It was a little more than we were expecting to pay. Nevertheless, this bidet is a comfortable fit for the 6' 2" men in our house.tony

A great addition to any bathroom if you use bidets. The toilet seat had an awkward fit on the existing Toto toilet, but after a bit of messing around, it fits and works great. Once set up, it is easy to use on a daily basis keeping bottoms clean. The heated seat and various functionality is great and easy to adjust to individual needs.
