"Well but it nature it is not an exciting item but it worked just fine for the use I planned for it which was not what it was designed for. My duct work for heating is in a straight line and needed cleaning badly. Couldn’t afford to have it done professionally so I attached a damp rag to it and pulled it through. Actually worked pretty darn good. So I give it a five star. And it was easy to do. Money well spent."

For the price paid, this thing works great, it's good value but probably won't last a very long time.Based on reading other reviews, it seems like I liked out and got a working one! After reading all the bad reviews, and realizing I maybe won the quality lottery, I lubed both ends of the grabber with silicone spray. That made extending the claw significantly easier. It tends to bind a little bit, by design, i think it's a fairly small diameter cable inside of the housing.Pay attention to the specs in the listing. The grabber end is pretty wide, wider than other similar (but shorter) tools I have used like this. It's almost a half inch wide. The extra length is spot on tho, it's long long.Between the thin cable inside of the housing ,and the plastic plunger, I don't think this thing will take much abuse, and is not likely to last very long. Having said that, if you need something of this size, I'd say give it a try. You may want to pull back on the plunger a bit instead of only relying on the spring, to get as secure of a grab as you can. I picked this up not for any current specific need, but my thinner shorter version of this sometimes has not been long enough to get the job done -- having this in the tool arsenal is going to save the day, eventually ;)johnnyd

This isn't my first drain snake and it's something everyone needs in their home tool collection. I use it to remove clogs in my bathtub drain and it's amazing to see just how much hair can be gotten out. So, when your drain slows down to the point where you know you have a clog then this is your solution. And it's much safer than using lye, which will not only destroy the finish on your chrome fixtures if not wiped completely clean, but lye accidents are no joking matter. If you're not careful you can be partially blinded by lye or experience serious burns.michael p

Honestly didn’t expect much, but this thing is super useful. The claw grip is strong and the cable is long enough to reach deep into drains or behind appliances. I used it to grab a ring from the disposal and it held tight with no problem. Build feels better than the cheap ones I’ve used before, and it even comes with gloves. Definitely worth keeping around.jimmie mack
