"I purchased this extra large mat to protect my new induction cooktop and based on the description thought it was a perfect solution. It was enormous and occupied the whole space of the place and it appeared clean and tidy. But my experience changed in minutes, though, between positive and terrifying. Not only is this product bad, it is an actual fire hazardI placed the mat on my cook top and placed a pot of water on the cooktop on medium heat setting which is normal and well within the limits of induction cooking. After another two or three minutes, I smelled awful chemical burning smell. When I looked over I was shocked to discover the smoke was coming out from under the pot. I turned the stove off straight away, but it was too late.The mat was fusion-welded to both the bottom of my pan and, what is far more dismaying, to the glass surface of my new cook top. The smoke in the kitchen was acrid and to relieve it I had to open all the windows to air the place. The next hour was spent in the painstaking process of picking up a piece of melted, blackened silicone on my stovetop. I am yet unsure as to whether it will be possible to scrub off every last bit without scarring the glass.There is a serious misrepresentation of this product It can not at all withstand the heat of a regular induction cooking burner and is a serious safety hazard. Purchase this under no conditions at all It did not work, wrecked my cookware, and hurt my new pricey machine. I am in total dismay and furious. Evil! appear at any rate!"
