This looks good out of the box and fits easily into any drill with a chuck bigger than 3/8 inch. The pointed tip holds the spot that you want to drill very well. Better than some 1/8th inch bits that I use. Normally, for wood I would use a flat bit for a hole this size but this drills smoothly and easily and leaves a cleaner surface on the hole that you drill. You do have to press hard and as the tip exits the back side of the wood, it usually locks into the hole and yanks the drill in your hands. You have to reverse it out and finish the hole slowly. I like using this to drill wall studs for running electric wire in the walls. Good to have for the price.tony m berry
