"I recently upgraded from a brushed nickel manual deadbolt to a black smart deadbolt, so we decided to go with a matching handle that doesn’t lock. I love how sophisticated my front door looks now & this handle matches perfectly. I had quite a bit of trouble installing it though, because you have to drill a hole all the way through the door for the bottom of it & there’s a screw that meets it from the inside. I had a handle like this at my old house that didn’t have a stem on the bottom like that.This door is metal with a styrofoam core, so it was almost impossible to get through the metal with a drill. Luckily, I had my impact wrench charged. The template helped & I started on the hole on point but somehow came out the other side too low. It might help if you have a friend to hold the door for you. I also had to chisel quite a bit to get the latch to come in with enough clearance to meet the existing hole, although I extended it as far as it would go.The inside lever functions just fine but the outside button takes some force to push down & open the door. I’m hoping it’ll loosen up over time & doesn’t end up breaking any time soon. For the time being, I can’t comment on the long term quality but it has good weight to it & looks amazing!It’s on there now & so is the extra hole so I guess it’s staying. If something happens down the road, I’ll update my review (after I go around to the side door to get in the house). 😂"
