"I'm giving this 1 star because of the price of ram right now, crucial used to be the reasonably priced go-to for storage and ram. This is unacceptable now, the average pc builder and consumer should not be getting stung by the price hikes due to the so-called AI boom/bubble.Shame on you industry. The ram itself is ram, it does what it does.... it's fine."

I've been using G.Skill memory for many years and been satisfied. I decided to get this Crucial memory just when memory prices began to soar. This one was significantly more cost effective then my typical choices at the time. I was pleased to find this works better with the motherboard I'm using in my primary system. With my previous memory, I would sometimes need to manually lower the speed slightly to maintain stability. This memory has not had the same issue. I just turn on EXPO (XMP) and it works. It has been flawless so far.I usually run 64GB in my system. I use it for both work and play. It is uncommon for me to use more than 32GB but when I do need it, there is no substitute.I chose the white sticks simply because the pricing was in flux and the white ones were a lot cheaper than the black ones at the time. Technically, black is better as it is capable of radiating more heat. However, I don't think it makes very much difference in this case.It is sad that I discovered how much I like Crucial memory at the same time they announced they will be exiting the consumer memory market in order to focus on supplying AI datacenters.

Haven't tried any overclocking yet but so far these have ran great at default speeds on my ryzen 9900x with nvidia 5090 for a few months of heavy gaming now. Blows my mind that I got the 64gb kit for 250 and its 650 now.... if I was shopping for similar at the moment, I'd definitely find used memory instead of new

I got this back when prices weren't broken. Today I'm not sure I'd recommend it until prices get back to normal. Timings are decent for such a high speed and the voltage seems to have a lot of leeway (I was able to lower it quite a lot while keeping the full speed.) It worked fine with EXPO-II together with my B650 and a 9900X, posting every time, unlike another set I had before (a 5600, so not even "overclocked") which rarely would fail to post sometimes.
