I usually dye my hair plum purple (a different brand), and decided to try this cherry red for a change. My natural hair color is a dark brown, with some grays growing in. Before using this hair dye, most of my hair was plum with the roots being brown and a little gray. This hair dye covered all 3 colors, and it looks great! It was very easy to dye. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. This boxed hair dye comes with everything you need, including gloves. The gloves are attached to the instruction sheet, so don't overlook them. I have long hair; it goes to my bra strap. I only needed 1 box of hair dye. I was messy and got it on my skin. It washed off easily when I showered afterwards. My hair felt very soft after dying, which I assume is because of the after treatment conditioner. Inside my house, depending on the lighting, sometimes my hair looks more of a purplish burgundy and other times it looks dark red. Outside in the sun, it's a bright cherry red.jennifer smith
