"This is my favourite book in the series so far. Luke and Emmilene’s story is a fairytale. I love the authors way of playing with characters to make you fall in love with them."

The Baby Dragon BookshopAuthor: A. T. QureshiPublisher: (Avon) Harper Collins Publishers LtdRelease date: 12 February 2026 The perfect read for a Valentine’s release date, The Baby Dragon Bookshop is the third standalone but interlinked book in a cosy fantasy romance series. In ‘Cafe’, we met Saphira and Aiden, in ‘Bakery’, Theo and Lavinia. And in this one, the setting expands from our small town and introduces Bayview, home of chimera roasting coffee maker, Luke.Luke and Aiden’s cousin Emmeline are competing for the same funding from an investor. And these two enemies have been tasked with working at the Baby Dragon Bookshop to install a coffee shop.Emmy owns a dragon roasting coffee business and also has a personal grudge against Luke, though she can’t help remembering the brief night together at Uni.She’s also struggling to hide her growing attraction to Luke. As for Luke, he’s been crushing on Emmy since she broke his heart all those years ago.Written by a Pakistani Muslim American who weaves her culture and heritage throughout the series. It makes for a refreshingly diverse cast of characters. Both Luke and Emmy come from South Asian families and have their own stresses and familial responsibilities. Those include pregnant sisters, men in the home who need looking after (according to mum), babysitting baby dragons and the day job. Luke’s main stressor is his mum who suffers from a chronic illness causing fatigue and pain. It was great to see this depicted in a fantasy setting, especially with my own chronic health issues. This felt incredibly accurate.Motu, the baby dragon, is the star of the book, along with baby chimeras Butternut and Squash. They’re all completely adorable. However, it’s the romance we’re here for. There’s the enemies to lovers trope, slow burn chemistry and flirting, caring, a bit of sizzle, sweetness and humour. The miscommunication is the main issue at the beginning but it does resolve itself. We also get a peek at the darker side of dragon racing with Flint.I loved this book and we get the cameos of previous characters which adds to the delight.I can’t wait to see what Qureshi does next.

Who doesn't love a dose of baby dragon in their life!We have seen peeks here and there for Emmy and Luke in previous book so it was so good to finally get to theirs!Bookshop was filled with banter and fun which really made this book for me! Plus the whole enemies to lovers aspect, big sucker for that trope!Emmy is smart and fun and i love how she is with Luke. Whereas Luke is is like Cocky and annoying at first but he become a sweetheart i think. You get to know him more and it melts your heart.Overall this book and this series is the perfect for a cosy read that has low spice and the most adorable baby dragons and chimeras out there.

This was such a great installment in the series. I loved the story and was happy we got Emmeline (Emmy) and Luke's story! It was a joy to read and probably the cutest installment yet! We have another cute cover. The colours are gorgeous, and the baby dragons are just darling! The writing was wonderful, and it flowed beautifully. The book is in third-person format and in dual POV - Emmy and Luke. The world-building of Starshine Valley is so beautiful. We visited the chimera area too, which was fun. The characters were wonderful. I loved Emmy and Luke. Their story was special, and I adored the interactions they had. Motu was such a cute baby dragon. He was so naughty, though, which was funny. I recommend this book, and I just cannot recommend the series enough!

I genuinely think it's my favourite of all the baby dragon books.I love the characters, the dragons & chimeras. I loved coming back to Starshine Valley and seeing all the new developments. I love seeing old main characters pop up again so I know how happy they still are. I loved watching Emmeline wrestle with her feelings working with Luke. There's were so many swoony moments between them! The ending may have been predictable but who wants a shock ending in a cozy fantasy romance? I thought it was perfect!Would recommend for any fan of cozy fantasy or romance. As it has such a low spice level, I'd even say its appropriate for YA.
