"I really wanted to love this item. We get a lot of water splash onto the counter and it was pooling over the caulk and making a wet, gross mess. I found this and saw where it folds up against the back to fit nicely against the counter/backsplash. At first I loved it. When it started to look pretty dirty (as you can see in the pic) I was excited that I could just throw it in the dishwasher to clean it. As you can see in the 3rd pic, it doesn’t really get clean. Even with going back over it by hand trying to wash it off, a lot of the spots remain. But most concerning was the mildew/growth underneath it (pic #2-although a bit hard to see with my dark countertops). Clearly water was still getting behind it and sitting in that dark wet environment created the perfect habitat for stuff to grow. If you are going to remove it every other day or so to clean, then it’s probably not an issue, but for me, I don’t have the time for that so I will not be continuing to use it. It’s easier to wipe down the water everyday than scrub it every couple days."
