"This little machine is basically the overachieving intern who nails the first task, then drops the ball completely. Yes, it makes ice — and fast. The bullet-shaped cubes start appearing within minutes, and for a brief, shining moment, you think you’ve found the perfect solution to all your iced coffee, cocktail, and summer BBQ needs. And then… it just gives up. No insulation, no cold storage, no attempt to actually keep those beautiful cubes in their solid, frozen state. Instead, it slowly turns them into a sad, clumped-together iceberg floating in a puddle of its own failure. If you’re not standing beside it with a cup in hand, ready to rescue the ice immediately, you’ll come back to find it halfway through undoing all of its own hard work.The marketing will tell you it “stores” ice in the basket. Sure, if by “stores” they mean “lets it melt at room temperature while looking busy.” It’s like hiring a chef who cooks a perfect steak and then leaves it under a heat lamp for an hour. Or a bartender who pours your drink and then dumps half of it out for fun. For the price, I expected at least a token effort at keeping ice frozen for more than the length of a coffee break.Don’t get me wrong — for immediate use, it’s fine. Great, even. If you have people over and plan to keep drinks flowing non-stop, it will keep pace. But if you want to stockpile ice for later, you’ll need to transfer every batch to an actual freezer. Otherwise, this machine is just a fancy, expensive way to make artisanal slush. Three stars, because it does half the job flawlessly… and the other half so badly you almost have to admire the commitment to inconsistency."
