"I really wanted to love this mini ice cube maker because, at first glance, it checks all the right boxes. It’s compact, lightweight, and incredibly easy to use. You just fill with water to the fill line, insert the "cover", and within a few hours you have ice.Unfortunately, the biggest issue is something I just can’t overlook: the ice smells and tastes bad. Like REALLY BAD. To be honest, I thought I was crazy and imagining this until I came back and read other reviews stating the same thing. In fact, I'm now so concerned that I'm not going to use them again.From the very first batch, there was a noticeable plastic or chemical odor. I thoroughly washed it and washed it and even tried using different water, to no avail. Despite all that, the smell persisted. The ice gives drinks a strange aftertaste that completely ruins water, soda, whatever you're drinking. It’s subtle at first, but once you notice it, you can’t ignore it.What’s frustrating is that it really does work exactly as advertised. It produces ice quickly and consistently, and the small cube size is nice. But none of that matters if the ice negatively affects the flavor of your drink. (And quite possibly your health)In short, this ice cube maker is incredibly user-friendly and efficient, but the unpleasant smell and taste make it impossible to recommend. I’d suggest looking for an alternative."
