"TL/DR:- If your audio source does not have a way to EQ the sound then pass on these immediately.- The sound quality is very muddy.- There's better options out there. So most people will write a review with statements like "i am not an audiophile". Well I am, but I am not an audiophile with an endless budget so I like to found the best sound per dollar there is and this is not them.I was traveling for work and needed something to take with me to play with keyboards/drum machines at my work destination. Thus I typically take my small portal Klipsch pro 2.1 setup which might be 15yrs old in terms of when it came out but for that size I don't think you can find anything better sounding. Now the Klipsch pro 2.1's have the dumbest pin connecter for the audio and known junky fuse's and eventually died so thus I had to get on amazon and get somethin temporary to replace them. I did not want to go over 100.00.I stumbled on these , read the reviews and figured i'd try them. I paid around 90.00 so keep that in mind.Packaging:This was fine. I saw lots of comments about speakers coming destroyed, etc. They were packaged well enough and you can't blame the speaker makers for ups kicking around your packageSetup:Easy enough, Took a minute to get the BT part working but it all works.Exterior Quality:good enough.. Wasn't expecting much for 90 and they are on par with thatPower:I am thinking these are on par with their advertised rating of 40w. That should be more than enough if the speaker has a decent sensitivity rating, but I am not sure what that is as it was not in the details.Sound:OK so this is where the 2 stars come off for me. I kept reading all these comments about "room filling bass" and "wow these sound amazing".. I think there's a couple things going on here. I don't think these are fake comments. I just think these are folks that have always had just really cruddy desktop speakers and then got these and were like ...woah..more db's. I seriously have no idea how these are crossed over at, but whatever they chose its horrible. The bass people are hearing is a very muddy bump in the frequencies between 100-250hz.. It's awful and this is where a lot of the mud is. Once I EQ'd that down to reasonable levels you could still tell that these were just cheap speakers. There is 0 punch in the 5" woofer, and don't say "well it's only 5 what are you expecting". I have 5" elac's at home that bass so punchy you feel like you are standing in a club filled with funktion one subs. They are just cheap'ish. What stinks is that the cabinet is probably sized right. It's just the speakers are crud. Also not sure why they ported them on the front. Seems like most people might have these on their desk with a wall behind and a rear port might help with some of the sub bass. I tried and tried to EQ these speakers just to get a descent sound. It's the weirdest looking EQ setting I have ever done. The high's are just ok on these speakers as well. They are pretty flat, but not like flat like studio monitors (ns10's) just flat as in cheap.I am guessing you could probably swap these speakers out with some better ones from parts express, but at that point you should have just got a whole better set. These speakers should be 50.00. They'd be just ok enough for a patio set or something like in your garage. I wasn't expecting B&W's for 90.00 but at least something that sounded better than these.Edifier aren't much better. If you are in this market, i'd try to get your hands on a good set of the klipsch pro 2.1's and just understand that their life span is typically 5-10yrs. Or spend a little more and get a separate amp and some elac's or something else, but then your budget is getting into the 400-500.00 range.Hope that helps."

These lightweight powerful speakers really enhanced our home audio experience. They provide a lot of sound in a relatively small package.Interface: The remote feels solid and well-made. We've had zero issues with the remote. Contrary to other reviews, we find that the system works fine without the remote too. The top buttons are fine for turning it off and on, changing volume, and changing inputs.Aux In RCA: The sound from our record player plays crisply and clearly. Make sure you have a phono pre-amp or that your turntable has line-level output.Bluetooth: Bluetooth works great, producing big sound from our phones, etc. Pairing is really quick. Look for the "SineAudio" device in your bluetooth settings.Optical: PCM Stereo audio from our TV works great. Be sure to set your TV to output PCM or it won't work. The sound is a lot better than the TV's built-in speakers and also a lot better than any of the soundbars we've tried. The greater range of frequencies produced is noticeable when playing on our Nintendo Switch, watching movies, etc. There's zero or near-zero lag.Subwoofer: [original review] Untested. The bass reproduction on the speakers is good enough that we haven't added a subwoofer yet, so I don't know how well the subwoofer output works. [2025-03-17 update:] The subwoofer output works great. It's puts out an LFE signal that drives our subwoofer perfectly. Make sure to use a quality cable. Our first cable introduced a 60hz hum in the subwoofer output. The subwoofer makes a huge difference! It would be great to have adjustable crossover to play a little less bass out of the Saiyin speakers, but at this price I can't complain.I'm really happy with these speakers, especially at this price point. If I had to change anything it would be these:1. This should include a longer wire for connecting the left speaker to the right. It barely reaches from one side of our 65" TV to the other when routing it out-of-sight. For the price, just buy the speakers and some extra wire. It's still a really good deal.2. The news/movie/music equalizer settings don't make a huge difference. Bass/Treble buttons on the remote would be better.3. It would be good to be able to turn off the front lights on the right speaker. It's easy enough to cover them with gaffer tape so this isn't a major criticism at all.b franks

Saiyin Bookshelf speakersDS6801S are the 5 1/4" active 2-way bookshelf speakers. They come with one powered speaker and one passive speaker. The main speaker has a RCA subwoofer out port. The speaker system comes complete with speaker wire, rca cable, optical cable and remote. * if you find that your remote is not working with the speakers. Contact the MFg via the email in the pamphlet. The remote is the single most important piece in the box. I will explain later. The speaker has a ported mid-bass speaker that does a fine job and makes good use of the port. There is no port noise from the speaker. The tweeter is a horn. You will not get the smooth warm sound that you get with a ribbon tweeter. I use this speaker with a Polk audio 12" sub to practice my DJ sets. The remote control:The remote control allows you to choose between 3 DSP modes. Without the remote you will NOT be able to tailor the sound of the speaker. The DSP is NOT available via the controls located on top of the speaker. Additionally, The remote allows you to control the subwoofer level control. The speaker produces a fine sound and is worth the $60 price tag. I do have other bookshelf speakers with a ribbon tweeter and another pair with a soft dome tweeter that are more suited for easy listening or smooth jazz. The Sayin bookshelf speaker packs a nice punch and play loud. When paired with a sub the come alive and produce a decent club sound.dereck w

I bought these speakers with the intention of making a review and because they appeared to be a possible great value. At the time of my purchase they were around a hundred dollars, shortly thereafter they were offering twenty dollars off. These speakers look the part with the soft dome tweeters as well as a subwoofer output, which was the primary decision I chose these to review.Since I'm sure you can read the specs provided, I'll give you the additional ones that may or may not be in the description.4" midrange/woofer1" soft dome tweeterRCA/3.5mm/Optical/Coax/BT inputsSubwoofer OutputRated 36x2 Output PowerI'll be honest and up front. The sound of these speakers is not bad and for the intended audience, I'd say these sound fine. For the price, you should not expect miracles.I have a device called the Amp Dyno for measuring output power from amplifiers. I was eager to find out the "true" power of these speakers. My measurements are posted below:RMS Power at 1kHz8 ohms - 15W x 2 at 1% THD4 ohms - 28W x 2 at 1% THDThe speakers are 4 ohms, so the 4 ohm measurement is what you should care about. Not quite the 36x2 rating, but not too far off. Some people will say the included power supply is not large enough to provide this much output, but my tests show the power supply delivered 4A even though it's rated at 2A.Now on to the major flaw....it's the pop sent over RCA to the subwoofer when using the sub line output. It's not only a turn on, but also a turn-off pop. SaiYin should've added a relay to silence this as it could potentially damage your connected subwoofer. Too bad! Sound quality with the Polk Audio PSW10 added was awesome. Full and dynamic. But then if you turn off the speakers "POP" goes the subwoofer. The other concern is the functions of the speaker system are reliant on the included wireless remote control. If you lose the remote, you can't switch inputs. There is no manual volume control or input selection on the speakers themselves. This can be a problem as the remote is small and losing it is inevitable.Overall very good speakers for the money and as I stated before perfect for the 95% who just want better sound from their TV or bluetooth device (cell phone, tablet, etc). If the subwoofer output worked without the pop, I would've given these a 8.5/10. However, knowing the subwoofer out is a great feature you won't be able to use, I'd give them a 7/10.jhawk

Excellent speakers that far exceeded my expectations. Easy hookups and great room filling sound with bass that is amazing for their size. Haven't had any hum from power supply. They have been left on for most of their usage and surprise me everytime I hear them. After having some Denon and Klipsch equipment I wasn't expecting much from these. But they are punching way above their size and price. Cabinet build quality isnt cabinet solid wood but handled with care they are holding up fine.brady groves
