"The leather is fine for crafting bags, pouches, bracelets and other projects that will not be tooled or it doesn't matter if it stretches. Despite the title, you can not tool this leather. Oil tanned leather is chrome tanned leather treated with oils and waxes afterwards. Chrome tanned leather can not be tooled because it is soft and pliable. This stuff has its place, but the seller has no idea what they are selling."

This item was exactly as described. I purchased this leather to make strops for my TSProf sharpener. I was hoping it was firm as too soft leather will cause problems when stropping such as rounding the edge. The leather is quite firm but thick which to my mind is ideal. The 6 x 12 piece will produce 12 pieces for enough strops to last a long time even with multiple grit strops. Very pleased with my purchase. Exactly what I wanted.ej
