"So I am not a fan of peeling or coring apples, I am not sure many people are especially on a large scale and that is where I was hoping this would come in handy and I mean for the most part it did.-It came in well packaged and in perfect shape.-It seems well made and sturdy.-It came pre-assembled with a corer and peeler attached and some extra.-It does suction VERY well to the counter.-The handle is easy to use and easy on the hands.-It is very straightforward and fairly simple to use. I place a small plate under the cutting side otherwise you end up with a sticky apple juice puddle. Line up the apple bottom and theoretically you just crank and it can core( or not*) it and/or peel it at the same time. If the core of the apple is not 100% straight you will still need to cut out what is left because it will bore out the center whether it is the core or not.-The peeler option is super simple to either have it peel or not. Either lock it back to keep the peels or unlock it to peel.-Here comes the * The “optional” corer function is only an option once. Once you loosen it and try to put it back it will NOT stay in place. The wingnut will not hand tighten (or even plier tighten) enough to keep the blade from shifting. It only does it ever so slightly but every few uses you end up with a gosh darn mess of part cut, part mashed, part massacred apple. This could possibly be solved with a rubber/silicone washer in between the wing nut and blade.-As for cleanability I would have to say not great. If you do not rinse it off right away it is a pain to clean. After only a few uses/washes (because this part did not come in contact with the apple) the spiral arm with the locking pin on the end is tarnished. It is now brown rusted looking on the inner parts of the spiral.Overall it is a really neat gadget and has come in handy but I am not sure I would recommend this particular one. Which is quite sad as I chose this one because of the overwhelming amount of good reviews."

I inherited an old one of these from one of my grandmothers. Eventually I had to throw it out because it was all rusted and easily 100 years old. Unfortunately it wasn't worth much, even as an antique.So now I have this brand new one and it is absolutely identical to the one that was 100 years old. I swear you can skin an apple 6 seconds when you get good with it.
