"The lids on these jars will rust no matter what because they are not stainless steel they have a coating on them to prevent rust but it doesn't work against pickles, vinegar, acids and even water. if you want to store liquids in them then reconsider your options i made a few pickled onions in them those lids have rusted badly the ones in which i stored some chicken stock have started to rust as well. normally the jars which are made for pickling and canning come with a 2 piece lid which also rust but are cheap and not meant to be reused these jars can be used for pickling but this is bad marking to the consumer. this on the other hand bears the drawbacks of the 2 piece lid but the replacements are hard to find here and expensive not to mention that they are also not very durable. These jars are fine for storing dry stuff but don't try putting anything wet in there especially anything acidic.I have been searching for stainless steel lids that are not supposed to rust but all of them are either more expensive than the jars or look very much like the lids on there masonjarsThe Jars themselves are fine and sturdy they are not 500ml like the seller lists filling the jar more than you reasonably should is bad that being said you can fill in about 400ml safely so it is kinda annoying that the marker on the jar goes to 300ml only. The fun fact i used a little bit of math to calculate the volume of the jar i was using a normal 15 cm scale and according to my results the 300ml marker is at 285 ml and if you fill-up the jar to the brim it should be 481.25 ml just under the lip ring is 385 ml. i was a bit on the conservative side with my calculations."
