"I got this to try out with some Catalyst switches and every single one of them reports from a show inventory that there is an unsupported transceiver in the port. I tried to override the nanny but 4 different model catalyst switches all refused to function. The same is true for the fiber GBIC modules. None of the 10gtek or other 3rd party fiber connectors work, ONLY genuine Cisco transceivers.It's not that big of a deal with the fiber though because those are less than 10 bucks used but the ethernet 10gig connectors are several hundred dollars.That said, this device works perfectly fine in the mikrotik 10g switches, an aruba 10g switch port and a ubiquiti 10g switch so it DOES have it's uses, just don't expect it to work with a Catalyst."
