Got this pkg. of 6 Tamales for a holiday meal. Was not disappointed. They were tasty, easy to work with after steaming, and just right in the flavor and consistency category. We actually prefer those without meat, so these Del Real Foods Cheese & Green Chile Tamales were perfect. Added a bit of homemade Enchilada sauce drizzled over them, plus some sour cream, and all was good. Served with a nice green salad, and refried beans topped with some cheese - great little meal.tallwookie

I buy these fairly often for my Mexican-American husband, and he likes them a lot, although I doctor them quite a bit and make sort of a casserole out of them. I layer a can of Rotel and then the tamales on top, that I cut into quarters. I then add a layer of cheese and some Spanish rice or black beans, and a little chicken stock which is important to provide some steam to make the tamales soften as they cook. I cook them covered so they steam and it all comes out delicious and makes a homemade, economical meal with good leftovers as this heats up perfectly in the microwave later on.What Customers Talk About
