"If I had read this book before Heated Rivalry, then I know I wouldn't have bought anything by this author again. As it was, I read Heated Rivalry (which is actually the second installment in the series); loved it, and hurried to buy GAME CHANGER. What a disappointment!I could barely tell the two main characters, Scott and Kip, apart. That was the first major problem! Second, they were both too bland. And third, their story was incredibly *boring.* I don't know WHAT happened to the author's muse during the creation of this book, but there's *zero* tension - sexual or otherwise - in this plod-along plot. You would think the story of a famous hockey player falling in love & finally coming out of the closet would really sizzle, but this plot was like dried bacon in the author's hands. I found it a complete 180 from Heated Rivalry.I stopped reading Game Changer about half way through; forced myself to pick it up again after a few weeks, and ... it didn't get any better. I had to force myself to finish it. It just lacked everything that makes a romance right. Even the penultimate scene was a drag.I highly recommend Heated Rivalry, but recommend you pass on Game Changer unless you suffer from insomnia."

I enjoyed reading this story because it demonstrates how the world behaves in a way it is expected too but does nothing to back it up in practice.Any sport should help support players/ athletics in their sexuality and educate the fans in how to show their support with kindness and love. No-one should feel that they need to hide who they are. Anti social behaviour should be outlawed, everyone has a secret to hide but they should be able to reveal it in their own time.I liked the way the author outlines the high expectations players are experiencing and how the sport is more about image and money before thinking about the mental anguish some players have trying to live up to these ideals.I would recommend this book to anyone who lives a romance with a difference , the sexual passages can be ignored or in my case skipped over. This is an inspiring, modern interpretation about the love between two consenting males which was hindered by bigotry.10/10eg

I bought this book based on the hype I'd seen online and wasn't disappointed. This is a lovely start to the series. It is well written, with good character development and very romantic. It is very steamy! This one tells the story of Scott and Kip who get their own episode in the TV series but goes into a lot more detail since it is just them. It is one of my favourites in this series.ariana

I've been so excited to dive into this book after falling in love with the show. It was everything I'd hoped it be and there's no question I'm a Skip stan.Elena remains incredible and Kip's dad remains an absolute superstar of support.mr michael lovatt
