This was an exciting, steamy and romantic story. I thought all the characters were interesting although there seemed to be a lot of them in the latter parts of the book.Callie and Lucas had great chemistry and I loved the banter between them. I haven't read a huge number of paranormal books but I felt that this one had little nuggets that made it a little different like Callie having three familiars, most of her family ostracising her, Lucas not having a sexual relationship with the woman he sired and many others.Some things were explained too much but it wasn't often enough to be annoying. I would have liked more detail about Callie's life with her family before she went to the academy - how they treated her and how they discovered she was a witch. I am not keen on witch stories but I loved this witch/vampire romance and I am now a convert.Although there are further books in the series, I didn't feel that there was enough of a cliffhanger to compel me to read the others but I would still like to as I really enjoyed this one.mez
