"I bought VIZR Heads Up Display as a safety feature--to see mapping without taking my eyes off the road. What a mistake. The so-called easy set-up wasn't. VIZR didn't tell me that the four "legs" were removabe, as I didn't want to stick them on the dashboard before making sure everything worked. The mapping software was subpar compared to google maps. They didn't tell me that Google Maps and other mapping aps could only work if the reflection was upside down--left was right and right was left. Do I have to go on? I'm now trying to retrofit the device so that I can have my smartphone lean on the back mirror, but it slides off when I turn the car. Oh, and did I tell you that the reflection of the windshield wasn't bright or sharp like the video promos claimed."

Nothing new in this review as it's all been said by other reviewers. The product itself is nice in appearance but fails completely if you don't wish to use the suggested pitiful navigation program from Hudway GO. FixD itself (the manufacturer of the Vizr) apparently has no navigation app since all navigation references on the FixD website take you to an app for Hudway GO, and Hudway GO claims NO connection with FixD. Most disappointing. The only navigation apps that work are those that have a display option for HUD. Needless to say, Goggle Waze, Apple Maps, etc. do not have that option as of this date.Another disappointment is the display itself. In daylight it's extremely dim and I had to concentrate much harder on it to see what was being shown and especially the meager data onscreen. The street name itself is so small that it's virtually unreadable in daylight. Total fail for both the device and the app during the day. I did not fasten the unit down specifically so I could move it around to see where the best spot would be. It didn't exist. However, at night I feel the display would probably work nicely and be very readable (except for type size used for street name). Not much help to me since I don't do any night driving.So, I'll be returning the unit. I hope that process works better than the product itself. I did NOT get it through Amazon. That return process would be painless. I'll be dealing directly with the company. Wish I'd gotten it from Amazon.sable

What I didn't realize is that you are stuck using the company's interface because your phone's map function will display backwards on this screen. That means you are limited to the mapping software of the company that produced this cell phone mount. You don't get to use your favorite mapping system.rick parkinson

It is a device that you put on your dash, so just use a Dash/windshield phone holder (provided you have a smartphone) and use the maps app on the phone. Display is not backwards or upside down. Works better and does not washout in the bright sun.Anonymous
