"There are many kinds of wood that can be used to make a box. Some better than others. This one was just ok. My biggest gripe is the bottom. It is too thin. I'll try to reinforce it somehow before it falls out. With some work this could be a descent box. Hinges are good and the lid will need some padding when closing. Not bad for my first wooden box (for the price)."

I bought this to house a microscope when not in use. I tricked it out to not only fit the microscope but also the accessories. I put on a handle for picking up and carrying. I attached latches to prevent unintended opening. I stained it chestnut.
