"I never had waffles growing up in Michigan. Mom didn't make them, just pancakes. When out for breakfast, I would order pancakes with my eggs and sausage, never waffles. My sister in law made waffles and that was the first time I had ever had them. I get pancake mix in 1.81K bags, and I live alone. I thought I would like to make waffles for a change. Waffle makers can have problems of their own. Some heat only one side, and not both, so you have to wait for the unheated plate to get heated up by the heated plate. When batter is added, and the plate closed, one plate is heating but the other is cooling off because it is insulated from the heated plate because of the layer of batter in between the plates. Some have sticking problems too. This mini waffle maker could have an on / off switch, that would be nice. It's a very cute little waffle maker, and surprisingly nonstick surface is great. One thing I found surprising is the fact that the manufacturer doesn't recommend the no stick cooking sprays because they can contain soybean oil and that can cause the surface to get sticky over time. I'm glad I read that because I noticed that a butter flavored oil I was considering for purchase, was not a cooking spray, but did contain soybean oil. I'm going to get the oil, but not use it for waffles. The manual mentioned the plates are removable, but I don't see how, short of breaking something. It would be nice to be able to remove them to wash them in soapy water. I saw a video about a guy who made his own rv, and he had a similar tiny waffle maker. I thought it would be nice if I could find a tiny waffle maker, and I found this one. I very happy with it, I just have to not put too much batter into it, or it squeezes out the sides when it bakes. This makes waffles very easy and fun and I can recommend it for someone who wants waffles and is wanting a small appliance.UPDATEThe outside surfaces of this device get very hot during use. I would advise adult supervision of any children who want to make their own waffle, as it produces steam when opened and the outside surfaces are very hot. This is a drawback, to an otherwise fantastic waffle maker."

I love this little thing! It’s quick, easy, compact, and makes fabulous waffles. I make a pile of waffles on Saturdays and store them for the week. My only complaint is the lack of readiness beep, but it’s still worth every penny.

The media could not be loaded. The machine came quickly and was in perfect condition. I didn’t use it right away but plugged it in to make sure it would heat up to work. When the weekend came to use it, I cleaned it carefully holding it sideways with a very wet paper towel and a bit of dish soap on top of the sink with a very slow stream of water making sure not to get any into the appliance. That was the annoying part. I wish the plates came off of the appliance to be able to freely and throughly wash in the sink (why 4 stars instead of 5). They say to just use a wet paper towel but it didn’t feel right to not clean clean it before first use. I do clean it the recommended way after each use now though. For the price you can’t really complain to ask for that much.I saw a review vid saying to brush butter on both sides and cook it for 2 min and 10 sec. I found that to be the perfect amount of time. The waffles came out great. It’s easy to use and perfect for my household (me & teen daughter).

OMG. I cook and bake all the time and have made my family waffle recipe all my life, 60 years. This mini maker works like the expensive large ones. Just a fun thing to have and make these small round waffles. I didn’t need a waffle maker, but for $12 I had to have!! So cute!
