This drill bit has been perfect for my DIY projects. This drill bit offers the right size and strength for a variety of tasks, making it a versatile addition to my tool collection. The reduced 3/8" shank fits easily into standard drills where my drill applies. It is make for general purpose, but good steel that gets the job done without too much wear and tear.During my recent project, the bit performed flawlessly, cutting through material with ease and precision. The black and gold finish not only looks great, personal opinion there :), but also provides added corrosion resistance as I am not the best at keeping my drill bits stored properly 24/7. This drill bit delivers so its in my toolset now and worth it, for the price at least, probably for any DIY enthusiast.loosey goosey

This bit was used to drill four 5/8" holes in quarter inch mild steel. One of the keys to drilling is to keep the bit cool. I use Oatey cutting oil when drilling steel. Also, not forcing the bit with too much pressure is also important and letting the bit "cut" and not "push" its way through the hole, while withdrawing it allowing for chip removal.I found the bit to be fine for this application.brian sprague

The Drill America KFD Series 33/64” reduced shank drill bit is an outstanding performer and easily earns a 5-star rating. Featuring a 135° split point with Drill America’s Killer Force Design (KFD), this bit delivers excellent centering, smooth engagement, and consistent chip evacuation.Out of the package, the bit was exceptionally sharp and demonstrated impressive durability throughout testing. Cutting action was smooth and controlled, feeding straight without wandering or chatter. Inspection of the cutting geometry showed the lips matched within approximately .0001”, which is effectively at the limit of handheld caliper measurement and indicative of very high manufacturing precision.Performance was flawless across a wide range of materials, including stainless steel, cast aluminum, hardened steel, cast iron, and mild steel. The bit maintained cutting efficiency without excessive feed pressure and showed none of the instability or premature dulling common in lower-tier tooling.This is a professional-quality drill bit that performs on par with precision cutting tools typically found in machine shop environments. Highly recommended, and absolutely a product I would purchase again without hesitation.It is a exceptional value for the moneyI will say it took some real effort just to get it out of the packaging.
