"These little keyboards are amazing. Perfect for use with game consoles or smartTVs and small enough to stash under your sofa. They last for YEARS on a single set of batteries and they use the unified receivers allowing you to pair many devices to a single USB dongle. Typing on these things does not feel amazing, but it's adequate. Ditto for the touchpad, which has rudimentary support for gestures (eg, two-finger swipes for scrolling).I find it a little easier to type on the k400+ because it has a full-sized shift key. On the k400, half of the shift key has been replaced by an up arrow and it's very easy to hit the arrow instead of the shift while touch typing. The trackpad area seems slightly larger, as well.My main complaint about the devices is that the function keys are not active by default. You have to hold down the FN key to access them and it's very awkward. I use the function keys very regularly but almost never use the alternates (stuff like adjust screen brightness, lock the screen, etc) and it really sucks that there is no way to toggle the FN lock status. And this brings me to the whole reason I bought the k400: the images on the store page clearly show function keys that have no alternate (FN) function. Sadly, the keyboard shown in those images is NOT the one that actually arrived. The one that arrived, of course, has blue alternate keys all the way up and down the keyboard and the blue alternates are the default. So instead of pressing ctrl+F4 to close a browser tab, one must now press ctrl+FN+F4... it's not the end of the world, but it's inconvenient and frustrating. If you're in the market for one of these things, nab the K400+ and skip this more expensive version that doesn't really offer any improvement whatsoever."

I have both the K400 and the Plus which is supposed to be the newer model. I like the K400 way better. Even feels better built than the K400+ To me anyway. Why the K400 costs more I haven't a clue. I should have purchased off of Ebay for half the price AND free shipping. My ignorance for not looking.

I use this on my Raspberry Pi which is running just a small file server for the house. It's compact design means it fits out of the way under my monitor without taking up any desk space. When I need it, I just move it out and use it.The keyboard feels ok, if you're used to a larger keyboard it may feel a little uncomfortable to start with. The mouse pad feels a little "sticky" at times, as I've used this model on my workshop laptop without issue, I'm going to put that down to some issue on the Raspberry Pi rather than the keyboard.Overall, it works well for my requirements, the small footprint is good for my desk space.

This thing lasted us (+2 added kids along the way) 10+ years. It has been dropped countless times on hardwood floors, slammed, tossed, and yet it stood the test of time. We use this thing everyday to operate the HTPC in our living room.Today it started showing some wear, as a select few keys have stopped working (B, N, R, and \ to name a few).I'm immediately purchasing the newer version of this keyboard K400 plus which sounds like they improved some of the functionality. My only complaint is the trackpad is absolutely horrible when your fingers are even remotely moist/wet. For the $25 spent 10 years ago, this thing has paid for itself several times over. 10/10 would recommend!

The Logitech K400 is better than any wireless keyboard I’ve used. It offers excellent range, tactile typing, and true plug-and-play functionality. I believe I bought my first K400 in 2007, and this is my fourth one. They don’t wear out—they just get dropped, sat on, and generally abused. The built-in trackpad is a major plus, especially since most wireless keyboards lack one. It’s quiet, precise, and the size is perfect, providing a full keyboard layout without unnecessary bulk.
